LSU either throws a deep ball or nothing. This has been going on since Cameron became the OC. Even the weakest teams are successful with their short and intermediate passing against LSU, why LSU can't do the same?

It's been going on longer than Cam has been here. Miles is so scared of the QB throwing an interception that he will only allow him to throw the deep ball.

OC's have come and gone, yet the passing game weaknesses remain a constant.

What's funny about it? He has worse numbers than Jennings had last year who is widely considered as the worst that has suited up and started for LSU. It's pathetic is what it is. I don't know how much help he's getting from his receivers but the numbers aren't lying.

Just because LSU rushes very well doesn't mean we should abandon the short to intermediate passing game

Our receivers aren't aggressive. A poor short passing game might lead to more than one Pick 6. The deep ball or nothing plan is much safer until these guys show they have heart. Alternative theory; LSU receivers are purposely dropping balls to fool Alabama and Ole Miss into thinking that we are a one dimensional team.

It seems we are very timid in throwing the ball over the middle. This is probably related to BH not being able to read linebackers and safety's. Met killed with the slant and hitch routes and it was CC calling those plays. We run very well out of the shotgun, 3 receiver sets, and those passing routes fit perfectly.

I want to believe we are holding back and saving this for the meat of our schedule, but TBH, it seems the coaches still aren't confident in Harris.

Thats exactly it. You could tell they were trying to show they could pass last night against EMU and still didn't call any short crosses or slants, only deep stuff, sideline, and comebacks.

Seems obvious they don't trust him.

We have a problem, its a simple fact. Harris lacks touch, its a fast ball or nothing. I was also surprised how he continually under throws deep routs, that cant be from the coaches. A sure fire way to get intercepted is to throw short deep routes.

Honestly that's what Cameron did it Baltimore, it was either deep to Torrey smith or a ray rice run.

Yep and that's what got him fired. Might happen again, but he's Les's friend so likely won't happen.

TV Announcers said the EMU CB's were playing way off the receivers so a fake deep route curl in at around 10-12 yards should have been there ALL NIGHT! We didn't throw it once. C'mon man????

One thing I am concerned about regarding the short passing game is that our receivers are not aggressive enough for that.
