I want a beast at QB, nothing else...the position is filled with pressure and Id rather have a lesser skilled player thats a beast then a guys with all the skills and has no balls...

jj is the perfect qb for a run oriented offense. problem is we don't have a running game

I can't believe this discussion is happening. FWIW, here's my $.02:

1. I'd rather a sack than an INT.

2. Behind one of the worst offensive lines I've ever seen at any level, few if any QBs would have done well. JJ had no running game this year. JL had a good running game last year until teams realized how one-dimensional LSU was.

3. With last year's OL, JJ put up 30 and 38 points, without throwing the INTs that JL did. And he had less experience than JL did. JL sat the bench a year where he should have been learning, growing, and adjusting to the college game.

He could be decent with a little more support from the fans.

i agree completely except the exception on 4th downs, but i would like JJ to take some chances. seemed like he was timid all year.

i agree to an extent here, the oline i feel takes a bit of heat because of the running game. itf you look at ypc of the rb on the season they were fairly good while jj ypc was ridiculously low (and i know this goes to sacks as well) but hes timidness led to him scrambling for no gain or 1 yard entirely too many times this season.

this is true but with that same oline JJ took more sacks in his 2.5 games than Lee did the entire season, JJ did benefit from playing arky (secs worst defense i believe) and a ga tech team which was very beneficial to us matchupwise

Yeah, I think we can all agree JJ was too timid and thats something he must improve. But nothing was worse than all the INTs last year.

i agree with you completely on this, my whole issue all season was the same as last season, the qb has been ineffective for 3 or 4 consecutive drives, why not take him out let the other guy have a drive and seem if it motivates either to be better. IMO neither are good enough at this point to say hes cemented there and nobody will overtake him. both currently have the same W/L record and both seasons were really disappointing on the offensive side of the ball

competition can only help the young guys since they dont have an older qb to look up to

JL was not able to pass in the flat without pee'ing his pants during his big chance.
See also: Auburn game.

At the time, I thought it was the fault of OC Crowton, calling plays like that, over and over, after it was obvious to me, and my female intimate partner, that JL choked in that situation requiring a delicate touch.

The muscle systems behave differently when you can wing it 40 yards downfield, compared to the touch pass in the flat.

He could NOT do it. He did not do it, anyway.

JJ has the running thing going for him. JL is like a stone, when it comes to movement in the pocket.

Those are my uneducated opinions.

Could you please stop with the attacks on JL.

He plays for LSU, I'm sure he does the best he can, and he could have taken the easy way out and transferred somewhere but to this point he hasn't.

He has handled what has been thrown his way at LSU with nothing but class. How bout us fans trying to do the same!
