Unless you have only been alive since 2009, this thread is pointless.

everyone on this board seems to believe we "have" to choose one of the other...the coach doesnt, its not against the law to start over, sure you dont WANT to do that, but I really dont think that either one of them will have a lot of success taking our team to a BCS bowl, Lee has the physical tools, just lost his head two years ago...JJ has a little less physical tools but was right there watching Lee go through hell and doesnt want any part of that. (one possible reason he doesnt throw downfield) I still for one believe that the High School All-American QB! shoud get his chance, saw the kid throw in high school its not bad, period....Give him one half of football and I think all of you would see the QB of the future....Some on here are afraid that he will do well and then all of a sudden we have too many QB's...BS...Play the Freshman run the spread option recruit a OL and DL and win a couple of titles...Les, you reading?

JJ is just an average quarterback who doesn't make many mistakes. His arm is average, he has very few inceptions because he throws at his receivers feet. He is not very good at running at running the option. He is improving at a very slow pace. Clock management skills are poor. I can't remember one big game in which he made a difference.

key words there....diference maker...fact is he isnt one...

he reminds me of that old saying a tie is like kissing your sister...he's a QB, but theres no satisfaction in watching him play...

At least JL made an attempt to throw the ball downfield.

FYI, last time I checked that would be the fault of the OC not the quarterback. Very rarely at the college level does the quarterback steer away from the designed play and throw the ball downfield. JJ didn't throw the ball down the field cuz Crowton just about lost his balls after 07'.

this summarizes what i saw this whole season, if you put the game on his shoulders how confident are you in him guiding us to victory?

im not one bit, he looks good stats wise (which is what everybody goes to on this board to say hes so good) fact is he is an average qb, he takes care of the ball but takes drive killing sacks. thank god we had a really good scoring defense this year.

false, receivers was running routes downfield and they were open, JJ never pulled the trigger, idk if it was the fact he couldnt read the coverage and figure out when the receiver would get open or he just was afraid to go downfield

IMO it was both, how many times did we even attempt to take advantage of single coverage down the field?

i dont agree with this, but off that point we havent been a run oriented offense since 2005, in 06 we were pass first, in 07 we were pass first, in 08 we were pass first, in 09 we tried to be pass first

JL was who everyone saw first. Always happens that way. I agree with what someone said earlier in the post, the fans ruined JL. He could be decent with a little more support from the fans. I know fan support can't give a QB his skill, but it can definitely break him.

bullshite. Now the fans are to blame for the lack of QB development? That's insane.

We're not to blame for the lack of development, but play a big part in the lack of confidence JL has. And I think we all agree confidence is key in execution. If he were a beast he'd be able to block all the nonsense out, but that's obviously not the case.
