Why is the field at Alex Box in terrible shape?

Why is the outfield grass, particularly right and center field, in such bad shape? Looks like tractors rolled all over it and destroyed the grass.
One would think they could keep the grass nice.

It rained a good bit yesterday... Maybe that's why

Probably from tarps being on the grass. If it not raining, it cooks the grass.

The grounds crew is no longer accustomed to tending to the field in June.

Probably because we had30 inches of rain the last few days. The field required maintenance and this is what you got. Not hard to figure out.
