Passing game! When safeties have their back turned running down field it's easier. We don't pass at all now so its a miracle that we can run like we do.

LF's time will come...Hill is a great back and came into LSU with some problems. Hill didn't here how wonderful he was and how he was the next all pro dude. Many people didn't think he should even be on the team. He came in with a chip on his shoulder with a lot to prove. He had the talent and drive to do that.

LF shows up as the savior. Different mind set, but LF is a mature guy and is figuring this out. LF will be fine and that fumble obviously hurt him personally. He will be a great player, but thank goodness he is not hearing it so much anymore.

Hill's first year, he avg 5.3 yds per carry.
Fournette's average is 5.0

We weren't about to pass against South Carolina in 2012 up by 3 with 4 minutes left in the game. We weren't about to pass against A&M in 2012 up by 3 with 4 minutes left in the game. We weren't passing against Auburn in 2013 on 4th and 1. We weren't passing against Iowa in the bowl game up by 7 with 3 minutes left in the game.

The passing threat is not a factor in many of Hill's big runs.

I love all of LF's detractors. He'll break the school freshman APY record this week and he's on pace to break the school freshman rushing yards record, but he's still got detractors. Some of y'all are ridiculous.
Point out in my post where I put down LF or anything that would make me an LF "detractor." I think LF is an absolute horse and will be an all time great before his time is up at LSU. I was just asking a question. Asking a question makes me an LF detractor?

Exactly...when the safeties are 5 yds behind the LB's and playing between the MLB & OLB, makes it kind of tuff to break a long one up the middle like JH33 did so many times...the want to spread the field should be at an all time high for CCC & CLM, but apparently it will not happen until the very, very back end of the season...

One thing that I think I've noticed is that Jeremy Hill has a freakish ability to be close to full speed after about two steps, while Fournette seems to have a slightly slower start. Maybe this is something that can be improved by Moffitt and his crew.

Hill always seemed able to keep his balance when he got hit. Early in the year LF7 was having trouble with this but is getting better every week.

Hill was a RS Frosh when he broke out.

I'm as big of a Fournette fan as there is on this board, but he doesn't compare to Hill as far as big play capability. Not yet, anyway

It very simple. Fournette doesn't have the vision Hill has. LF is more Alfred Blue than Jeremy Hill. If the hole is there, LF will get through it with power and speed. However, he doesn't see the cutback lanes, nor does he have the balance that Hill has. What made Hill so great was his cutback ability and ability to keep his feet even when he was knocked of his path. That was evident from his first game with significant carries (2012 vs. USCe) and it never stopped.

Great vision is what separates good RBs from great ones.

LF has had a lot of runs where he runs to initiate contact, instead of trying to run around defenders.

Of course it is. When they have been chasing you all over the field the enitre game playing on your heels it isn't exactly easy to adjust to a run it right at you approach. A balanced attack takes it's toll on a D much more than a grind it out style. JH is better than LF right now, no one is questioning that. But he absolutely benefited by playing on a good balanced offense.

I guess a better response to you would be, do you think LF would have broken one this year if he had Mett, Landry, and OBJ on the team this year? I would say the chances are pretty high.

You must have been out of the country in 2012 when Hill was just as good as last year (3 straight 100+ yard games against USC, A&M and Bama) when he became the primary back. All the while, LSU's passing game was horribly ineffective

If our line played every game this season like they played against Ole Piss...............LF would have a ton more yards.

It was hard for him to run with the entire DLine in the backfield with for a few of those games.

A&M playing Defense? Against Bama Mett had one of his best games as a Tiger. That argument doesn't really hold.

Fournette has taken the first of two steps in reading/playmaking at the RB position. Obviously had to adjust to the speed of SEC ball, but now he is reading and starting to anticipate holes. What will put him on the same level as hill, and possibly above him as far as overall skill, is when he begins to set up blocks with his patience. Once he turns that corner (and I bet it happens soon), he will be damn near unstoppable.

Wow I just don't understand how you can hate on a freshman that leads his team in rushing. I thought LSU was one of the better rushing teams in the country. Oh well maybe I'm just retarded or something.
