Why is everyone so mad about Harris sitting?

Yes, Jennings was horrible vs Arky, but he put LSU in the position to beat Bama (if we don't freaking kick it out of bounds). The offense was doing well and the team was improving prior to Arky.

Also history has shown that the recent "successful" LSU QB's all either sat or were redshirted their freshman season. (used wikipedia to refresh my memory)
Rohan didn't play his freshman
Mauck redshirted
JaMarcus redshirted
Matt Flynn didn't play
Mett sat for a year even after being coming in from JUCO.

LSU QB's that saw significant playing time as a freshman:
Jarrett Lee
Jordan Jefferson

ETA: Not to mention the last 2 heisman winners were redshirt freshman.

He can't move the offense down the field except for handing it off to the backs. That's the problem. Harris showed some extreme potential in that cream puff game and Miss State. Yes he floundered against Auburn, but I'd say Jennings Arkansas performance was worse. Just baffling why you don't go with the more talented guy considering anyone can turn around and hand the ball off.

Jennings barely did shite against Alabama besides the TD pass. He spotted them 3 points before the half, and then went 0-4 attempts in OT.

Most popular guy on team playing bad(that doesn't have a great QB) is the back-up QB

The offense is so bad that it's become the narrative. And that should be unacceptable. And if a Jennings led offense just gets worse and worse, why not at least get the other young QB some meaningful snaps? If you wanted to sit Harris, you should have given him the redshirt. Otherwise, this year has been wasted in terms of QB dev

We scored 10, 13, and 0 points consecutively in games that you deemed our offense to be " improving and doing well".

Defense, defense, defense is the only reason LSU looked good for a few games.

Nah, our RBs did that, unless you're counting handoffs.

You answered your own question...

LSU has a history of under developing QB's.

That is why Mett is the only one in the NFL that has any kind of shot at becoming a franchise QB.

Plenty of teams play Freshmen QB, A&M, Miami and Clemson come to mind.

There are FBS schools that have young QB's that are running complicate offenses and have high QB ratings, why not LSU ?

Shouldn't you be a little tired of history repeating itself ?

You don't have to be a negi-tiger to expect more from a high paid staff and a Power 5 school.

He shat the freaking bed almost as bad as JJ on the date that I dare not mention.

Both were horrible, but that is why the team has practice. What make you so sure that BH is beating out AJ in practice and Mile just stubbornly refuses to play him? Did you ever stop and think that BH is still struggling with the offense (hopefully improving but still behind AJ) like Miles says?

I want the guy that the coaches (you know the ones who are actually watching the tape and are at practice) think gives us the best chance to win. I agree AJ is bad, but he obviously must give the coaches more confidence than BH.

We didn't have the depth to redshirt Harris this year. If Jennings ahd gone down we would be playing Kragthope with only Jared Foster (who?) behind him.

The people bitching the loudest don't actually care about Harris or his development. He's just the best means to shite talk Miles right now, because LSU isn't winning games. If LSU was undefeated and Jennings had the same stats people would just call him a game manager.

A true freshman QB getting meaningful playing time is an anomaly in CFB. If Harris were to start against aTm and play as he did against AU, they'll just declare him terrible and move on to saying how Miles can't find or develop QBs. There's no real point in trying to talk about anything in terms longer than a week or two around here. Half the people posting now will be gone after the aTm win, whether Harris plays or not.

I think people are just pining for something different. I'm not convinced Harris (at least this year) will magically make our offense not suck dick, but we might as well give it a shot. I don't really understand people losing their goddamn minds over it, but that's the way it goes.

For me personally, it's because Jennings is proven to be incapable and I want Harris to have equal opportunity to either prove himself capable, or prove himself to be equally incapable. I don't feel like he's getting an equal shot as Jennings at all! Jennings has drowned, now let's see if Harris will sink or swim.

Yes, I like our defenses's odds against Bama's road offense with no timeouts (or even 1 timeout) with only 50 seconds or so left. If they had the ball on the 25 then they would have to go atleast 45 yds in 50 seconds to have a long fg attempt vs only having to 30 yds to get the same fg attempt. Not to mention the momentum swing that happened the second the ball went out of bounds.

Is this a fricking joke? He didn't do shite in the bama game. We almost won in spite of him.

i normally don't post on the rant during the year but I was so stunned by this comment I felt compelled to respond.

so do you think Johnny and Winston would not have won the heisman if they got playing time the previous year? Just flawed logic to believe that lead to a heisman. shite FSU might have been back to back going for three if Winston started over Manuels sorry arse

Alright goodnight all enjoy thanksgiving and geaux Tigers
