They run out of a fairly diverse set of formations.

Example.

That was actually pretty cool. Seems like we could "mix it up" like that a little and still be true to Miles' philosophy, no?

Everyone knows that Arkansas is going to run it, yet they run it successfully. If LSU is going to be committed to the run, why aren't they able to get better results?

Do you not think that everybody knew we were going to run it in 2010, 2011, and 2012? We ran down opponents throats regardless of WTF they knew. Blocking is the problem, and it is the only problem why our running game is trash this year.

There O line out ways every one that they've played except Auburn. The one time they played against similar size players they lost

because they pull guards and sometimes a center to the side they run to...thus outnumbering the defenders.

Oh, and sometimes they run counters, etc.

Oh, and the last piece is that running the ball is an attitude...and they have it.

They lost like 10-12 sec games in a fricking row and their OLine is better that LSU's.

Hmmmm, think about it.

the fact that you can't see that Texas Tech has a poo front seven really speaks a lot

I think we have capable players. They have the want to run the ball effectively.

In their only SEC game this season Arkansas had a grand total of 2 rushing yards in the 2nd half.

The majority of their running plays aren't obvious to the most casual observer... Off tackle with a FB that rarely does anything more but bounce backwards off his block and the hole, if there was one, is filled. Most high schools from when I was in school back in the mid '80's, had a more complex and varied scheme than we do. I've defended Miles the entire time he's been here and for the most part, I love the guy. But the run game has remained exactly the same, regardless of our OC. We've been extremely fortunate for years. We had no business winning the 9-6 game in Tuscaloosa. It amazes me that anyone actually thought we had a chance on 01/09/12. Our only chance was if Bama hurt themselves. Just like the 9-6 game. I am finally fricking tired of it. I don't want to make the mistake Texas made by keeping a coach too long. frick it's so frustrating.

Wake up. That's the same exact type of shite I heard from people prior to the Miss State game.

Arkansas will make our D line look stupid. I'm thinking they get well over 300yds on the ground against us and that's being conservative.

They also ran for 153 against Auburn on only 29 attempts. That's over 5.2 ypc. At Auburn mind you. We were at home against ULM and had 212 yards on 52 attempts. That's 4.2 ypc against a Sun Belt team. You can say what you want, but they are getting it done against better competition.

quote:

TTech combined to beat Central Arkansas and UTEP by like 10 points combined. And gave up over 400 rush yards combined in those two contests.

UTEP put up 330 before that game and 344 after that game going over 5.9 ypc in one and 7.5 ypc in the other. Their freshman RB was the number one rusher in the country after the first three games of the year, and is still the #5 rusher after not playing last week. He is also the #2 rusher in yards per game.

Let's see if we can put up 5.93 ypc against New Mexico State just like they did.

Also you have an agenda. Tech only gave up 3.3 ypc against Central Arkansas coming on 54 damn carries. For reference, Florida gave up over 400 to Georgia Southern last year. Just tonight, they only gave up 3.76 ypc on 42 attempts at Ok st.

Until we can run well against better competition than FCS, I don't want to see or hear people talk down a serious run game like Arkansas.

That's irrelevant.

Arkansas never fell behind enough to abandon the run.

So is this.

I doubt they will be able to run all over State, Ole Miss, and Bana

They don't have to run all over them, just run well enough. I guess you guys have never checked out Arkansas' OL have you? Bret is pretty much making this Wisconsin south, but he is getting some way better pass catchers in this class. Also has a good looking QB coming in next year.
