Why Etling or Lindsey Scott would do better

Harris cannot process information beyond the call that is played. He has near zero capacity to have a reasonable "second reaction", so his second read is almost impossible. This is the skill that most separates a HS QB from a college (and even more of a separator for the pro game which is even more complicated).
Lindsey Scott is a very bright kid, and if you watch his film, you will see he has this baked in already. He stays composed. Etling is more of an unknown, and he had a horrendous Oline playing for a very bad team at Purdue, but from the sample and from Harris's shown deficiency, he could not possibly be worse.
THIS IS WHY MILES's CHOSEN QB's ARE NOT COLLEGE CAPABLE. Jefferson, Jennings and now Harris. All 3 came into LSU with very poor skills in this critical area, and Miles and his OC's have failed to identify as much, and have failed to develop the QB's in this specific area.
I personally think Lindsey Scott is going to excel in this specific area. He ALREADY has this baked in, so he will not need some miracle identification or development by the poor LSU coaching staff.
Anyway, Harris is extremely poor in this most important area, and has regressed more than advanced. He keeps getting worse with more reps. he is un-developable in this area. Whitfield has thrown his best at it, and he got worse.
MAKE THE SWITCH. This one area, even with the bad play calling, can make a very notable positive difference.
Of course Miles's "brain" and ego has no clue of this.
Frustration on steroids.

Gordy said last night Etling goes through his progressions much better than Harris and stays calm in the pocket.
Nobody knows if he'd farebettre than Harris but pretty much everyone agrees he should get a chance to show what he has.

I think you are being a little harsh on Harris. He has improved his line absolutely played like shite. Go back and watch his throws he did get to his second receivers on several throws and Dupree had several balls he should have caught. Now when you constantly throw out of two wide receiver sets how is your QB going to get comfortable going through progressions now matter who it is. WTF Miles and Cam can't get this I don't know. WTF they don't at times come out in 3 or 4 wide on first down and throw is beyond me.

miles is just not interested in developing the passing game. he flipped everybody off last nite - " everybody would get excited if we completed 19 of 21 passes, - we just need to win the game." paraphrase
but I understand. we are all so frustrated we have to vent and vent and vent.
what's so obvious to the whole world our coach refuses to acknowledge.

Harris' mechanics break down when under pressure. He reverts back to old habits

If you remember the New Mexico St. game 2014,a change was made because of the horrendous play of the "favorite". We may very well get to see the same scenario this Saturday night, and if Scott (or Etling) is efficient, it may just stick this time. State was next on both counts, but this year that game may be a catalyst, instead of the bane it was to Harris.

Yes as do most pro QBs. The line has to play better. I just hope they are capable. Do we not have a better option and tackle than Mae Tehuema?

Please play Etling and watch us lose every sec game.

This has been said by every QB Miles has recruited. Listen to Miles speak I mean is it unreasonable to think the way he uses the English language is causing a problem with the play calling.
"Ok guys lets execute propel pass to the runningback that allows him to lung in an open gap"
aka toss dive

They wouldn't.
We could start Etling, he would play poorly then all of you would be calling for the next guy.
We've been doing this since 2008, wake up and realize miles and his dumbass offense is the problem, not the players (except for JJ, I still maintain it was his fault then)

Why Etling or Lindsey Scott would not do better:

Have you seen the stats on Etling?

Etling is not an unknown. He's played 2 years of college football with stats far worse than Brandon Harris. He was so good in his 2nd year as the incumbent starter at Purdue that he was benched after 5 games and never played again. His replacement, Austin Appleby was awful. Appleby transfered to Florida after the following season after losing his starting position to a freshman.

I've seen this statement from a number of fans as if LSU's line is any good at all. Please explain why this somehow makes Etling look better. Were his coaches sitting around saying well our offensive line is really bad what can we do to get them to improve? I know, lets bench our starting quarterback! Freaking genius idea Ron our backup can't run well at all. You were such a great hire. Nice work.

neither could do worse, so there is only an upside to making the switch.
131 yrds might as well be zero because we are not going to win with either. the INTs
at the wrong time could break the tie. The last INT lost the game.
Mentally, I had the game in the W column
the final drive up to the INT.

After speaking to two players, both stated to me that BH is a great guy but he has never learned the play book and has know clue where his second and third recievers are.

this is beyond stupid. He has to know the playbook. Also the plays they run in a game are the "gameplan" and they run those plays in practice all week.
ETA: and the gameplan doesn't change so he has run those plays to death
