get it is for the money, but damn, we've missed out on some cool home and home opportunities.

Did you ever think that maybe some of those games would have just never happened unless they were a neutral site game?

They don't suck that bad. It's kinda cool to go play in an nfl stadium from time to time.

No. College atmosphere is WAAAY better than pro atmosphere and playing in those stadiums gives it way too much of a pro football game feeling. Would love to see BYU come to tiger stadium or Florida playing at the big house on opening weekend.

LSU wouldn't play in it every year and it would allow 2 teams (probably at least one from the SEC) to gain exposure by playing in the city for recruiting purposes.

Recruiting? Please.

Every game is on TV. You think another team physically playing in New Orleans will have any effect on LA recruits???

Maybe 40 years ago when recruits might never see certain teams, but not today. Not at all.

I just hope we keep our home and home series with Texas and that they don't move the game to the Superdome or San Antonio or Houston. I really want to make a trip to Austin and I would love for Texas to come to LSU

I am glad they don't. LSU would not do it every year and it would just become a recruiting tool for other schools to get exposure in La.

The sugar bowl is played in New Orleans every year. Has that event helped anyone in recruiting?

Correct ! the old excuse of "we need to play there" for recruiting purposes, is utter bull crap !
MONEY is the real reason....neutral site "exhibitions" in Dallas,Houston,Atlanta...where-ever, are purely money-grabs and a slap in the face to the season ticket holders !
Look no further than this years' pathetic home schedule...not a rats arse is given by Alleva. THIRTY million more from the SECN and he's still grabbing for more...pathetic !

One reason LSU likes to play the Houston and Dallas games is because it gives them exposure in the Texas recruiting market and yes I know for a fact that the Sugar Bowl participants use the opportunity to recruit while they are here.

Yep. Good to know that the sugar bowl, college championships, and the superbowl are all played in a shitty city with a shitty stadium.

Superdome isn't a good stadium. It is pretty simple.

"Why doesn't the Superdome do a college football kickoff like NRG?"

Because New Orleans is broke, and ran by clowns.

Also, corporate sponsorship is tough to come by in New Orleans for the reason stated above.

Look how long it took to find a corporation willing to pay for naming rights to the dome. Tom Benson had to call in some favors to get the one he got.

Look for them to bail soon now that the sponsor Atlanta's new dome.

LSU people will travel to NO for the day and evening but will probably not stay over night.

NO will not make as much money.
