Why does a really good DC come into a situation with no stability?

No doubt this is a great hire, especially when you consider how poorly and publicly the LSU admin handled Les Miles by basically announcing to the world that he is on his last leg here.

I didn't think LSU would get a top shelf DC because of the possibility that he'd be out of a job in a year.

Aranda must have higher aspirations. The only way I see a guy like him jumping to what could be a sinking ship is if he plans on being a college HC or NFL coordinator very soon.

Enjoy him while he's here, because I don't see him being here more than a year or two.

Money. Cash. Hoes.

Oh and the chance to coach some of the best athletes in the nation as a resume builder for the NFL.

When our defense is top notch and we have experience on offense there is stability.

You gotta think Les will do good enough to keep his job next year with this DC change and Harris/Fournette/Dupre with another year.

Maybe, just maybe, the situation has a shitton™ more stability than you think.

Maybe there is more stability than we know? Miles is here a few more years after what happened this year.

If Aransas has the defense elite then Miles will win enough to stay through his contract if not more.

The talent pool is off the chart.

He wont freeze his balls off in October in BR.

Chance to play with the big boys.

He somehow understands Les-speak!!

He knows he's up for a head coaching gig, regardless. Why not double his salary while he's waiting.

This is a great opportunity for Aranda to prove himself against the big boys in college ball. He was going nowhere at Wisconsin as they are notorious for not paying assistants under Alvarez` regime. Just ask boss hog at Arkansas.

I`m sure Dave has higher aspirations in life but then again, so do most of us.

These types of questions are lame.

More money and the opportunity to coach at a great place with top tier talent.

Steele just got a raise and a job @ Auburn.

You really think Arranda couldn't get another job within days if Miles was gone? And the likelihood of being retained here with a new coach is high with his caliber of coaching.

Lol. Let LSU drop 3-4 games next year and get back to me.

To whom do I owe royalties for quoting your trademarked word? Have your people get with my people.

Miles probably has more job security now than any other coach in college football other than Saban.

Miles could take a dump on Alleva's office chair while Joe is sitting in it and Alleva would just say, "Thank you, sir, may I have another?"

If Les drops the ball, maybe he ends up working for his buddy Herman.

Even for a year or two is good for both parties. The level of defensive talent LSU has on average absolutely deserves it's equal in coaching and this guy brings it.

If that were true, we'd never have Malleveto/Steele hires. We've been in much better situations but hire much worse coaches.

Good Lord

We are weeks away from a Top 2 recruiting class.

2017 will be just as good.

Why don't you jump ship and pull for someone else.
