Really? I wasn't real impressed with his kick returning. He's not even in the top 30 so far this year, and his average would have ranked 50th last year. It's not bad, but it seemed to have a long ways to go before I would call it "great". And he's young, so he's got a great chance to get there, I just don't think his kick returning is there yet. I was disappointed in his vision, particularly. He seemed to run right at the coverage guy every time.

Did you even watch the game? Dude had no blocking at all on the kick returns or on the line.

wat?

Hilliard and Magee are fantastic running backs. In two or three years you idiots will be calling for LF to be benched for the latest and greatest rectruit. Pull you head out.

Lol man TBoy your post is fricking hilarious, not that anyone would know or even should know because I never tell anyone but I had a tumor a few years back that has left me with a slightly but not severely impaired brain, sorry to be off topic but I personally can't stop laughing

When you're considered the best RB out of high school since Adrian Peterson and a five-star who's ranked by many as the top prospect in the nation in your class, you generally tend to play right away.

I agree. But if we're truly being objective, LF did not show any elusiveness or attempt to juke or change direction much during returns or regular carries. I'm sure he'll adjust to the college game but he seemed to just run straight and take on whatever was there. (That might not be the worst thing honestly. A lot of guys think you can come in and toy with defenders like they did in HS by reversing the field 3x and dancing around.) Give it time, he will be amazing.

Hill is only 75% of the back LF will be

Maybe. Maybe not. Hill is the best back LSU has had since Faulk (I'm not going to count Cecil since he only played in four games). I've maintained that if LF can be 75% of JH we're in good shape.

I think LF did a great job as a kick returner

Huh??

LF's kick returns were quite average, nowhere close to great.

Can't we all just hold off on the adulation for awhile?? At least until we see true flashes of greatness from the guy??

The man-love for LF is getting nauseating - and I'm a fan of the guy.

Bc he is good and contrary to popular belief Miles has no issue playing young players if they are better than the vets.

Because the rant went nuts and predicted he'd run for 14,000 yards this year.

Is it because of not enough depth with experienced running backs this year, just wondering because it took miles a few games before he put Hill in as a freshman

1. because he is ready, and just didn't get a lot of good blocking.

2. hill was behind Hilliard who was coming off a very good freshman season which people forgot pretty quickly when Hill came on the season.

Well then haul arse sweet pea! He averaged 25 yds/return and he is the greatest in state recruit maybe of all time, considering the accolades.

He is already mature and grounded and his body is that of a senior already, not some freshman who needs to develope.

What's not to love? He is a Tiger and has earned the respect and love he gets! GFY

I was at the game and watched it twice more (so far) on DVR. He repeatedly ran directly towards coverage men, even when they were being blocked.

And you don't have to have blocking to run away from where the coverage guys are running.

Actually, it was less than 23 1/2 yards per return.

Really? You think he's earned 4 Heismans? Because the hype like that is precisely what people are finding too over the top. Why do you have to find fault with people who aren't even saying he isn't the greatest running back of all time, just that he has not established that yet after only one game with limited touches?

There are people who say that right now -- having played all of one game -- LF deserves to be accorded respect as great as or greater than that accorded men who have come before him and rushed for thousands of yards and won mighty awards like Heisman Trophies and All-American honors. Some of us disagree on that specific assertion, even when we agree that he will earn all that respect eventually.
