Why do these guys still get the 1st out at third base?

Are they just giving the green light to go and they just don't understand baseball?

Given the green light and they get cocky. I mean I would too after 6-6 stolen bases.

Yeah but this seems to be a trend with this group. It will come back to bite them eventually

We always do seem to make mental mistakes on the base paths. Get way too aggressive.

It was a calculated risk. If you noticed, their catcher wasn't exactly on target. We stole everything we wanted up to that point. I like putting pressure on their catcher.

With 0 outs and a guy at 2nd, unless its ricky henderson or someone who can get a huge lead, its not worth it. Rusking one of your precious 27 outs with so little to gain is dumb.

2nd base on the other hand is usually pretty good. Especially against that catcher

Aggressive base running means you will get caught sometimes. Guarantee you by the end of the year it gets you more runs than it cost you. Also catcher tonight had a noodle arm. I was at the game and when they did the throw down to start each inning there was an obvious difference between Pap and the UNO guy.

With the way we were running the bases tonight..I'd give a free pass to CPM on that call

Was it CPM or is it the kids just having a green light and not understanding baseball. It isn't just tonight

Fraley, Duplantis, Freeman, and probably Robertson have the green light to go whenever they think they can get a good jump off the pitcher. The starter had a slow move when guys got to second and the catcher had no arm. Fraley was safe the ball beat him to the bag but the third baseman tagged him after he got to the bag. It was a bang bang play that could have gone either way. I think it would have been better to wait til one out to do that but you don't want to take away from their aggressiveness. This team is going to need to steal a couple runs when they start sec play.

So you guys think we can't score from second with a man there with no outs?

It's not that.
It is just something to bitch about after a win.

I'm all about being aggressive, but you also don't want to take runs off the board. Is there a way to see the steals vs caught steals at 3rd this season on 1st or 3rd outs for the LSU games so far?
