Why do some people think staying till the end of a game is some noble sh*t?

I was at the game yesterday, and I didn't have a problem when people started leaving with 6 minutes to go in the 4th.

I'm not going to shame those people. Had the tickets been free...yeah, they should feel obligated to stay till the end. But they paid hard earned money for those tickets. Just like people don't come back to a restaurant if the food/service was bad.

People don't like it when they don't get what they paid for. They paid to see LSU football and it was not LSU football that they saw last night. Leaving early was a message of disapproval till things improve.

People who leave early because they don't like the outcome seem like the guy who quits when they aren't winning.

Want a real protest, stop being a fan and give up your tickets.

I am here to say I left early in the 4th quarter. I just couldn't take it any more. If I would have been home, I would have turned off the TV. I'm sorry.

It's like saying that if you buy a steak at Chris's and end up with a pile of shite on your plate that you should be forced to stay and finish the meal. That's now how the real world works, not really sure why some fans and apparently our players think they're entitled to people staying in the stadium to watch silently while we get our shite pushed in by Arkansas

I regret staying as long as I stayed. If I could go back in time and walk out right after they ran out onto the field, I would. What a shite show.

And that's a natural reaction. You can't win/enjoy the game anymore, go spend your time elsewhere...have a drink, play with your kids, get something to eat. It doesn't mean you're a bad fan like some make it.

I turned the game off in the middle of the 4th. I guess don't let me off the hook just because my "departure" wasn't public.

Call it a lack of principles, but when I stop enjoying an activity, I stop that activity. Not unlike the football team itself, as it would appear.

LSU football is entertainment. Did anyone see a lot of entertainment in that game last night as it got late into the game? The most entertaining thing was Miles calling timeout with 15 seconds left down 17 and everyone trying to figure out what was going on.

I've left 4 games early in 15 years:
08 Georgia
11 Bama (1/9/12)
14 Miss State
15 Arkansas

What all of these games have in common is ridiculously poor coaching.

Most of the people complaining about fans leaving are the same ones who have no problem with les miles or with losing. Most of them are hopelessly delusional. They can't be reasoned with, so don't try.

Umm. we aren't playing. we are there to see a quality product. When the product is not as advertised, you leave. Why is that so hard to understand. It's a dumpster fire out there across the board. Coaching, offense, defense, special teams. Painful to watch.

But you go ahead and give yourself a participation medal or style points for staying the whole game. Way to go super fan.

Agreed. I was there too and very few left until it was 31-14, a few left at half but not many at all. Even after 31-14 a lot of people waiting for our offensive possession which was the comedy routine of 3 pre-snap penalites in 5 plays and then went for it on 4th and 20 and had to summons the offense back onto the field for 4th down - players just assumed we were punting/quitting like we did the previous week.

I left my friend's house middle of the 4th, so I guess I'm guilty also.

I'm sorry but at the end of the day football is entertainment. If you're not entertained why the frick would you stay?

The entertainment angle is a huge one imo. Even when LSU wins we get a lead and shut it down barely hanging on and we either win or lose close at the end. Victories are more of a relief than a celebration. Even when we win, fans go home pissed off and frustrated.

Do players stay till the end of their eligibility? Do coaches return money when they cause the loss? If it's all about values, then give tickets out for free and pass around a collection plate at halftime.

I'm going to keep buying my tickets and not going to any games or giving my tickets to anyone who will use them until changes are made. If you want to send a message to the program, this is the way for fans to do it. A half empty tiger stadium On national TV sends a message. Unfortunately I don't think enough fans will do it.

I've left exactly 3 games early in 40 plus years. Two because of illness and last night. Now granted, there were only 6 minutes left in the game, but for the first time, I was more interested in beating traffic than staying til the bitter end. This NEVER happens!!

This

I don't blame players leaving early to better themselves financially. I don't blame coaches for collecting an undeserved paycheck.

As a fan, let me do as I please, just as they do. There's no golden rule that says just because you're a fan you have to endure watching shite for 4 hours.
