We're so far moved from reality as sports fans that it's hilarious.

We as fans want total domination on both sides of the ball and to run rough shod over the everyone we face. The reality of it is, that is almost impossible to achieve. Our fan base is a bit spoiled because for the last 10 years we have been on a hell of a run. Sports is for enjoyment.
I wasn't pleased that we lost yesterday, but that was a damn good football game that saw. It could have gone both ways and in the end Georgia's defense did that little bit that it had to do to win. A true mark of a good team is how they respond to an emotional win or loss.

Why do people feel a non-bcs championship year is something to celebrate when we end up watching other sec teams win it all on a regular basis?

Because for the first time in 6 years, we actually have an offense. We've been good with absolute mediocrity on that side of the ball.

It was exciting that we had a chance to maybe put something together.

This offense with almost any defense from 2009-2012 would be a great shot of going undefeated.

Because being an LSU fan is fun, and watching football is fun, and being an LSU fan and watching football is fun, but mostly it's because we're adults. About yesterday's loss or any season where LSU loses more games than you'd expect, I'd say "Get over it," but there's nothing over which to get. It's just a game. It's for fun.

I was over the loss before the last snap. I wasn't as high on this team as many fans. In fact I was happy we competed so well bc I wasn't sold on our offense prior to the game. As a fan I hoped our defense would show up but as a realist I figured the defense was weak.

I still expect better effort and at least an attempt to change things up on defense. If our secondary is going to blow coverages only rushing 3-4 guys why not blitz?

Offensively...I love running the ball but why not RUN FROM A SPREAD formation at times? Running from double TE I formation sets against talented SEC defenses is like running into a brick wall over and over.

You're cool with being an average run of the mill college football team with the highest paid (or very close to it if not) coaching staff in the country and the ever increasing premiums to go to LSU games with your family.

Not only can we not win it all, we can't stop other SEC teams from winning it all and then proceeding to talk shite to our faces. Fans around the conference that we have to deal with every year.

I was born a fan of LSU, I dont view it as a lil weekend social get together where we can share recipes and whatnot. I want my team to win, period. Winning brings happiness.

Joe Alleva loves you my friend!! That's right, winning national titles is not the important thing it is being in the hunt for them. So let me get this straight, those of us who want out team to reach the highest level of success each year and are disappointed when we don't are not true fans?? You may settle for good in everything you do, but there is still one level above good. If you are happy with settling for good, you are happy since 2007. But don't belittle those of us who see greatness as the only real goal on whatever we do or like. You and Allevas attitude gets you what we have. Moore and a BAMA fans attitude get you what they have. And apparently you are satisfied with both. And that is fine. Just don't call us out who like seeing our team be the best at everything.

Unless you are a BAMA fan and AD who not only want it but demand it. Then your reality is what they have seen over the last 5 years. Ours has been good but to pretend these two football programs are even close to the same level is really looking at things through purple and gold lenses.

all you want to. Case in point, which qb was happy after the game last night? Mett or Murray?

Which one had to think about moral victories to make it thru the night?

Are you a fan? You don't care about outcomes of games? You don't plan your days around your teams games? Etc?

Not what the OP said.

LSU's football successes and failures have nothing to do with how great you are, and I'll gladly belittle anyone who thinks otherwise.

I'm sure we both know the answer to this question, but there's really no reason either should be unhappy right now.

I agree winning brings happiness, but if your entire happiness hinges on LSU winning all the time, you sir, are in for a miserable life.

Once in a while, sure I do. But since I'm an adult, I don't plan the next day's mood around it. That's retarded.

That's not what the guy is saying. Check your reading comprehension. LSU's football shortcomings have to do with being stuck with a fanbase that is cool with paying premium $ for "good" results. While we watch other teams in the conference win it all year in and year out.

It's all good. Say, that spinach dip is excellent and the beer is cold! What a great day to lose a football game!

You, Sir, are exactly why this program in my opinion will never win another NC with The current structure in place. I hate BAMA. As much as anyone, but we have become to them what we think Ole Miss and other programs are to us. And if that suites you fine, then maybe it is YOU who needs to join another fan base.

If LSU was the only thing I relied on for joy, you would be correct.

I love how people automatically think that if someone is real about the successes and failures of their football team, that said person must not have a life.

I don't hae the greatest job in the world or a family or vacations or anything. Im just a miserable old wretched hermit with no life and a sour face all the time

By contrast, I dont live in some weird "Stepford Wife" type of environment where a smile is plastered on my face when I'm watching the MNC game and the other sec teams are dancing and holding up trophies.
