Why do people all of a sudden want Aranda to be named HC

I see people saying that if Jimbo and Herman aren't available then Aranda should get the job. Hell, there was a thread before the Wisconsin game asking if people would be okay with him getting the job after Miles is gone.

If LSU doesn't hire Aranda this past offseason and someone suggested we off the Wisconsin DC the HC position people would flip out and scream that he has no HC experience and LSU is not the place for a first year HC. 90% of the board had probably never heard of the guy before our DC search last year. Why then is he all of a sudden our top candidate behind two pipe dreams? I don't get it.

I believe it is people seeing his future potential. Aranda is incredibly intelligent and understands the game of football. Losing out on a gem like him may hurt when he finds success elsewhere.

I want him to be named interim HC, assuming we can't get a deal done on Herman or Fisher before Les loses another game for no reason.

Almost everyone on here wants us to either hire Herman or Fisher ASAP.

Aranda isn't getting the job permanently, and barring a loss to JSU, this team won't have an interim coach, so Aranda as HC is goofy.

Some fans liking what they've heard about Aranda =/= Aranda being LSU's "top candidate"

This makes me think that you're under the impression Fisher or Herman are a possibility during the current season. Please tell me I'm wrong.

Sure, but people are suggesting that he got the job over other candidates. My point is, most LSU fans wouldn't know Aranda from their next door neighbor had LSU not hired him and now he is the top realistic candidate for the head coaching job? Seems a little premature. We're not even sure he's going to be a successful DC here.

There are plenty of people saying that we should offer Aranda after Jimbo and Herman say no.

LSU should not be the first head coaching job for anyone.

it's a knee-jerk reaction. Aranda has zero head coaching experience and is too much of a risk to let him cut his teeth here. Head coach and coordinator require completely different skill sets.

Some brand new head coaches are home runs, but for every Tom Herman, there's a Will Muschamp.

When we make the change, we need a PROVEN head coach.

Because we don't even know how good he's going to be as a DC yet. Sure, he's intelligent and knows the game of football, but I think people are throwing his name out there simply because it's a name they've heard. Nobody would be seriously suggesting that we give Aranda a call if he is still the DC at Wisconsin.

uh, because he's never done it before, so the risk is high.

We have resources to go get an elite coach. No need for us to risk a hire on a guy who doesn't have one second of head coaching experience.

You do understand that head coach and coordinator are completely different positions requiring completely different skill sets. Some coordinators make the transition, others flame out.

Too much risk. Let's go get a proven commodity.

You're not wrong, but I definitely don't think either is coming here before the end of the season. If FSU and/or Houston were to lose a few, it would be possible to get a deal struck with one of them before the end of the season. Again, I don't think this will happen.

One more LSU loss, and I feel they should fire Les, name Aranda interim HC, and then we CONTINUE the full pursuit of our next HC in which Aranda would preferably be kept on as DC under. Herman and Aranda are connected, by the way. Jimbo would likely want to bring in his own guy to run the defense, but he is connected to Orgeron.

why do we pretend its absolutely necessary a guy proves it as a HC first? FSU wasn't above giving it to an unproven Jimbo, the NFL does it routinely.

let's say the first 2 are off the list, I'd rather take a chance on a young up and comer like Aranda over Dan Mullen.

You can forget this happening. LSU likely isn't firing Miles before the end of he season much less working out a deal with Jimbo or Herman.
