You act as if you have never seen this happen?

In case you haven't , I'd advise getting used to it.

I have no clue why people are upset about having 1 extra timeout at the end of the game.... What if we got turned over on the inbound with 10 seconds left and needed to regroup after FT's? It's one timeout...

New college rule. You can have rollover timeouts.

Because we are notoriously careless with the ball at the end of games and take ill-advised shots. Why not get the ball into the front court quickly and call timeout. We lost to a 1-2 team that we had no business losing to. It's one game, but just frustrating to see same mistakes made over and over again. Year after year.

Don't let the defense get set. Your let Simmons take over and see what he can do

I've definitely been critical of his TO use in the past but I was ok with that last night. You let it ride with Simmons there and unfortunately he made one too many passes. It's our 4th game and a leaning experience for all involved.

Marquette had just called a timeout before their final set, so we had time to set up our options on both a miss or a make. So our last shot was predetermined. This also doesn't allow Marquette to switch personnel before we come down. And the setup we had was sound, everyone sagged in on Simmons and he found Sampson in the corner. He didn't like the look, so he went back to Simmons. You had both an open corner look, and the best player in the country touched it twice. Everything pre-passing it out to Patterson was ideal.

Because none of our coaches are as bright as our fans.

Yep. He should have taken that jumper instead of making the last pass. They will learn. Marquette played a great game.

I got no problem with that. Call timeouts to stop momentum or to maybe give your player a rest, I'm good.

But to call a timeout with 10 seconds left to allow the defense to situationally sub and game-plan for what you are gong to do...I hate that. Way to much over-coaching in those situations these days.

That's what practice if for. You have a guy that makes great decisions with the ball let him go, he'll usually make the right choice. I agree with the analysts, his first pass was great. I don't think the second choice was bad either the throw was just a bit off target forcing Patterson to adjust a bit before shooting and he was slightly out of rhythm.

But I got zero problem with not calling a TO there.
