This year is starting to turn to shite. Gonna be a long year watching this group if they don't get their fingers out of their arses. I see sweep this week and Arkansas is going to arse rape us next week if something big doesn't happen real soon. Watching them is going to be like jerking off with a handful of thumbtacks this year with this bunch.

LSU doesn't have a legit 3rd baseman or 1st baseman. Both guys play their hearts out and I am proud of them. However, why don't we have any BIG guys on the corners like you're supposed to? This is LSU. We used to be the MIGHTY LSU.

More than half of the starters on this squad are sub 6' and under 200.

I've been asking this question repeatedly ever since Matt Clark left.

I read in the USA today high school top 25 that we signed a kid that was in the report that hit like 25 homers as a junior in high school last year hopefully he makes it to campus next year.

[quote]First time in my life LSU has not had a single homerun threat in the lineup. It's ridiculous.

Can't argue with that!

Mainieri doesn't recruit anyone taller than himself.

With the scholarship limitations and the way the college game is now played there is more of a premium placed on pitchers rather than hitters. Also, with the hitters you do recruit you're looking to get more guys that are versatile in that they can play multiple positions and maybe even pitch themselves. With the game going to more of a small ball approach because of the current bats this tend is likely to continue. Teams want athletes that can run and get on base not heavy guys that are stuck at first and could have high strikeout totals...
