Why are so many here ok with this pod: LSU, A&M, MSU, Ole Miss?

Texas A&M and Texas is arguably the most heated rivalry in the SEC and at least pretty equal to Bama vs Auburn rivalry. And I keep seeing people put them in separate pods when the schools are located 90 minutes apart.

Texas A&M is absolutely terrified of Texas. They ran away from them by going to the SEC, they ducked them in bowl games the last 8 years, and now they are trying to duck them, as much as possible, in the SEC itself.

Why are people here ok with Texas and Texas A&M being in separate pods just to make A&M happy.

If it's pods, that will be ours.

Hopefully we can keep Bama and Florida as permanent opponents. And likely Arkansas, too.

Probably because LSU could easily run that pod consistently

Bc football would be pretty sweet. Normal circumstances and we run through that POD. Toughest opponent is A&M. Why would you complain about that ?

Would be a tough pod for baseball.

Easiest pod in conference for basketball.

I don't like it.

I'd prefer a Big XII pod and us with Arky, State, and OM.

@wildtigercat93

Bad if LSU goes tough and even.

Bad if LSU goes easy and lopsided.

What do you recommend?

If we pod up with those three I will revolt. It would be like being put at the step child table

This should be the pods:

LSU, Arkansas, Ole Miss, MSU

Texas, Texas A&M, Missouri, Oklahoma

And if LSU has to play one of these other pod schools every year I rather it be Texas.

Makes sense for a few reasons.

First, A&M and UT very unlikely to be in same pod which makes a UT, OU, Ark, Missouri pod logical.

Second, A&M has to go somewhere so pod with LSU makes sense.

Third, this pod would keep LSU vs OM game annual and also game with legacy SEC team in Miss State.

Hard to envision LSU being placed in an exclusively former Big XII pod.

Your suggestion isn’t “tough and even”. It’s simply tough for one half of the conference and dog shite for the other half

And it doesn’t really matter to me how the pods are formed, I’d prefer them to be as beneficial to LSU as possible but for the sake of reality I realize that there will need to be a balance across the entire conference for it to work. Your suggested pod system is not only the most unrealistic I’ve seen, but the least beneficial to LSU that I’ve seen. So basically you should dump the entire idea and stop wasting your time arguing for it. Take the L

Might be a moot point since those that have the best W/L or national ranking will go to the SEC big game.

This should be the POD LSU is in for historic and geographic reasons.

I’m sure you can understand the difference of having Bama and Georgia in your pod with a guarantee to play them every year vs playing Ole Miss and Texas &M instead

Especially adding on the expanded playoff field.
