OK Sweltering - I’ll hold out and tell you what I got mine for. You do realize there are thousands of tickets waiting to be sold? Texas holds out trying to get more season ticket sales.

Have a group of 18 going. Bought tickets on stubhub when I first saw them come out. Paid a fortune, but now seems like it was a good time to buy. Have a large group of friends going, some UT fans unfortunately but it should help add to the fun party weekend. Really looking forward to it. Haven't been this excited about a road trip since green bay.

Hotel and all other expenses taken care of besides tix. They are still too high so I will be cancelling and watching the game while sitting in my swimming pool!

I think the quintessential Tex-Mex spot in Austin is Matts El Rancho, but it gets busy fast.

Tamale house east on East 6th is a great place that’s been around forever. Joes Bakery on East 7th is great as well.

Habanero Mexican Cafe Is a great neighborhood joint but they are cash only and only open for breakfast and lunch.

Matt's el Rancho is what everyone knows, but gets busy. Habanero's on Oltorf is good. Cash only though. Also, more of a dive, Borego de Oro on Congress.

Bbq that's exceptional but not gonna have a massive line isn't easy to find. Terry Black's on Barton Springs is really good but can get busy. My hidden gem is Brown's BBQ on Lamar. As good as you'll get anywhere and in the parking lot of a bar. Eat inside or out and have a beer. Sometimes they have a special where you spend $10 inside gets you a free plate of bbq. You won't be disappointed with brown's if you choose there.

BTW, get moist brisket. Don't be a lean guy.

I have a group of 18 coming with me, fully ticketed (knock on wood). I'm coming in from Dallas, but have family flying in from Atlanta, Memphis, Nashville, etc. I'm looking forward to my trip as well and had a home off of 6th via Airbnb as well. I saw a duplicate listing pop up for the same place I reserved back in January. The owner was using a property management company to do all of his listings on Airbnb and decided to terminate his contract effective August 31, 2019. That means he is now responsible for his listings and has no legal obligation to honor prior reservations. Needless to say, he didn't honor any of the prior reservations, but has gladly relisted all his properties at 2.5X what I paid. It sucks, but it's legal. If anyone looks at the Brushy Street condos in Austin take extra care.

wife and I will be in on friday and headed out to drink, eat and be merry somewhere off of South Congress. Look forward to seeing a lot of Tiger fans there!

On a side note I attended both schools but have and will always be a Tiger first!

This is the biggest LSU game, from a supply and demand standpoint, in any of our lifetimes.. i had a much, much easier time getting six tickets for the LSU/Bama National Title game thru TAF than getting just two tickets for this upcoming UT game.

You should definitely worry, a lot.. or just stop worrying, and pay through the nose... All because of UT and their crappy conference only alloting 3500 tickets.

Fear mongering.

Ticket prices WILL drop before game time. I will bet my paycheck on that. Will it be an expensive ticket? Probably so. But the “biggest LSU game...of a lifetime”? Give me a break

Curra's is my favorite. It's in a ratty looking building off of Oltorf and South Congress heading towards I-35. Their avacado margarita is really good and their salsa is amazing

I’ll be there with two of my podnas. I heard something about there being a general admission ticket you can purchase and watch the game from inside the stadium at one of the bars inside. If anyone could confirm this.
