I remember that 'event' believe it was a Trump promotion, at that time I had no idea who this point guard from Oregon State was, but he destroyed Jackson.
The main event was just as bad Kareem Abdul-Jabbar scored the first dozen points, and he doubled up on Dr. J

here are some really cool you tube videos of Pete playing other NBA stars in horse.

he schooled them all. Unfortunately he got injured and could not compete in the finals.

Pete was much better defender and passer. Complete game.
Top 5 some years of nba in both steals snd assists.

Cj. Streak shooter.

I saw them both play and while CJ was a great player, Pete was better.

I believe that The Pistol would win that one

Gary Payton did something that CJ was never interested in, play defense

CJ and Pistol could have one heck of a game of HORSE. That would be very entertaining

Ask Walt Frazier. Pete put up 68 on him one night and Walt was a better defender than C.J.

During the 1977 season the NBA sponsored an H-O-R-S-E competition. Pete, as expected, made it to the finals. He had to drop out due to injury.

Pistol Pete would win 10-10. He was taller and more athletic. Both could shoot from anywhere. Not sure either could play very good defense. Both were #1 and #2 for shooting guards in the history of LSU basketball - perhaps on a national level as well.
