Do Brennan or scott have a chance, or will we stick with Etling?

Isn't Etling a 5th year senior or some shite?

If i'm not mistaken I think he has one more year left of eligibility.

i could see Harris transferring, if he feels he doesn't have a shot to start next year...

that would leave Etling, McMillan, Scott, Brennan, and Narcisse...

i think Scott will end up #2, and Brennan may get some reps in garbage time...

Depends on who the coach will be. If it's Fisher or Herman. Scott and Harris bc both like athletic qbs that can throw it.

Brennan and Narcisse will redshirt.

So that would mean DE starts against Bama again next year?

a true open QB competition between all of them:
Etling, Harris (if he doesn't transfer), McMillan, Scot Jr., Brennan, and Narcisse.

whoever works the best with the offensive system will get the job.

to give an answer: either Etling or Brennan

im a huge fan of Scott. if we move to a read option offense I think he'd be absolutely incredible. yeah he's short but he's the same height as Brees and Russell Wilson, and just like them his intelligence is more than enough to make up for that.

dude had 3,039 passing yards (33 TDs) and 1,963 rush yards (28 TDs) last year while leading Zachary to the 5A state title. Louisiana 5A is probably better than some FCS conferences. he was Gatorade Player of the Year, and had an offer from Harvard.

he's the classic "how did everyone miss on this guy".

I could see Scott takeover with either Jimbo or Herman as coach. Intelligent and can be mobile enough and both coaches seem to favor mobile QB's.

i 2nd all this... big fan of his as well... but i do think Etling, being the #1 for this season, and going into next season, will make large strides... will it be enough to beat Bama? dunno, but i do think he'll improve under Jimbo...

As much as I respect Etling for everything he's done, I would be disappointed if he started next year considering the talent we have on the roster

If he is our starter next year, it will just be another glaring indicator that there is an inability to recognize talent and properly implement it at the QB position. Whoever is our coach next year needs to be able to bring the best out of the athletes we have at the QB position.

I would like to see Scott get some time to see what he can do before the new guys get here. Clear we're going in a different direction next year anyway.

Not saying we should start him or put him in position to lose, but if we are successful let him see what he can do.

Call me crazy, but if we hire Herman then I think Harris would be the favorite to earn the job....depending on if he works hard and earns obviously, but he fits that system. Harris may have checked out though, so who knows
