My favorites are Silky O'Sullivans and Rum Boogie...

the whole place is basically a muuuuuuuch cleaner and smaller version of burbon st...don't frick around, or they will arrest you in a heartbeat...

ETA: you will get more responses if you ask where to go on beale street in your subject line instead of where people are staying...

Which bar is the piano bar on Beale St. Run by the LSU fan?

Is that Silky's?

There was a fire at BB King's earlier this month.. Dont know if they're back open for business yet... There's a bar called "The Flying Saucer" right off Beale that's ok and there's always good looking women at Club 152.

I live south of Memphis and haven't been out in years, but I always enjoyed The Flying Saucer. Tons of different beers and good pub foods.

Silkys is the place you're thinking of. Only he doesn't run any longer because he died.

I think the first bar he ever owned was Southdownd in BR.

He may have been a LSU fan, but he made every visiting group of people think he was a fan of whatever group they belonged to.

The Flying Saucer is a pretty good spot. Think "Happy's meets the Bulldog".

Please don't expect Beale to be Bourbon.

50 year old guy, you'll be fine at all the spots.

In particular check out Blues City, BB Kings, Rum Boogie, Silky's and The Plush Club.
