Our Defense will be top5 by seasons end. Our defense should rightfully be ranked higher then they are right now but Miles and Cam Camerons stagnant offense has really held them back. If this new regime get's this offense going the sky is the limit for this defense. If we can put some drives together and just keep our defense fresh we are going to be a tough team to contend with from here on out.

I'm honestly not sure. They haven't faced any really good offenses yet and the bend, but don't break is bound to start giving up more TDs.

Jesus, bro. It's like you know that you should be using the possessive case, you're just not sure where, exactly. Therefore, you just decided to throw it in randomly.

Or work their way to less bending

Our defense is still short on quality defensive linemen. A coaching change isn't going to fix that. The secondary hasn't played up to expectations thus far either. Too many uncontested passes are being caught. I believe the DBs can play better. I don't have as much faith in the D line.

I think Aranda has put in way too many changes for the defense to be immediately good. I agree that the long term looks promising, and I have faith in that, but there are still a lot of holes being exploited by opposing offenses.

... Most of the rant will continue to blame any and every problem this program has and will have on Miles for the next 10 years.

I completely agree with your post though.

I think they will be a good defense but they aren't by any means great or anything close to 2011. The longer aranda is here , the better they will get though . Next year and the following they will be a top defense . As long as aranda stays put . Honestly the secondary hasn't played up to expectations minus tre white and Jamal Adams and even Adams has blown some coverages. Another problem is beckwith is our only outstanding linebacker. And I mean he is friggin outstanding . He should be a 1st rounder based off his play this year .

This.

My confidence is not very high in the defense when I see the ball go in the air. We'll see if Aranda can adjust.

no way. defense is getting killed by 3rd & chavis. they need to be able to stop someone so the offense can keep the defense off the field.

Through 4 games in 2014 Chavis allowed 4-15, 3-14, 4-14, 5-14.
Through 4 games in 2016 Aranda allowed 3-15, 7-17, 1-14, 8-19.
While Chavis' opponents converted at a slightly lower rate (28 percent to 29 percent), Aranda has done so with a pretty glaring offensive play deficit.
If you thought our offense in 2014 was bad...
We're averaging 11 less plays than our opponents this year.
in 2014 we were averaging 10 more than our opponents.
So more snaps for our opponents means more 3rd down tries, means more third down conversions. It'll look a lot better if we can actually start moving the ball.

We've had more than 59 snaps this year in 1 game!!
In 2014 we hadn't had less than 68 through 4 games!! It's absolutely terrible.

Also.. I think KT2 has played a lot better than he gets credit for. Auburn was, by far, our worst 3rd down performance allowing conversions 44 percent of the time.
MS State converted 7 percent of their 3rd down tries.

Why not???
Most of the rant has been blaming Ryan Perrilloux for our QB problems the almost 10 years.
