When I was a kid in the 60’s. Joe Labruzzo

Burrow is my favorite that I’ve never met.
Mathieu is my favorite that I have. And I’ve MET A LOT over the years. If I ever run into the badger again I’m gunna show him that pic from 2011 where we are both 100 pounds lighter lol

Kevin Faulk, no question

Jerry Stovall. Robbed of a Heisman, but got SEC player of the year, unanimous AA, two time first team all SEC and played running back, defensive back, punted and was a return specialist.
Dude was so good he was basically on the field at any given time whether offense, defense or special teams.
Was also picked 2nd in the NFL draft and then 3rd in the AFL draft.

Probably Dalton Hilliard. Jerry Stovall described him as a water bug. I’ve never seen a player with more moves. He was not very fast in the open field but he ran hard, and he constantly made players miss. Quiet, determined, pound for pound best RB we ever had.

Tie. kevin Faulk and honeybadger. I guess one on offense and one on defense works. Faulk helped rebuild the LSU brand. he was the key to bringing other talent to LSU after years in the desert. And he was also one of the greatest all around RB's of all time in all of college football. Honeybadger was honeybadger. Nothing else to say.

Tommy Casanova. You had to see him play. As a sophomore he actually played some halfback and was smooth. As a cornerback, he smothered receivers. As a punt returner he was hard to bring down and scored many TD’s.

Too much recency bias, but understandable given MY age. Cannon, Casanova, Burrow, HB

Dalton Hilliard and Eric Martin.

Tyrann Mathieu, the Honey Badger, was a natural, had instincts on the field you cannot coach. Even my Dad, who was in his 80's just could not believe how talented the honey badger was! I know he was dismissed from the team, but remains one of the biggest ambassadors for LSU. I will give him the edge over Tommy Cassanova & Joe Burrow. But so many great Tigers I have seen over the years & admired like George Bevan, Mike Hillman, Nelson Stokley, Ronnie Estay, Art Cantrelle, Bert Jones, Charles Alexander, Mike Anderson, etc.

Tyrann Mathieu and it’s not particularly close. Generational talent isn’t saying enough. One of the greatest college football playmakers of all time and not on pure athleticism either.
