First name to pop into my mind is Andy Hamilton; I was just getting old enough (10-ish) to really pay attention and he was a standout in the Bert Jones era. Wore 80 in HS because of him, Doug Moreau, and Tommy Morel.

Micheal Clayton

One game he scored the touchdown, held the extra point, and made the tackle on the kickoff.

Dude was a ball player and could have played any non-lineman position on the field.

Yep. To be in the student section (end zone) and see how he ran and juked was magical.

Wish the old highlights were in better resolution. Amazing to watch.

I was a young kid watching him for LSU and then the Saints. While no one would argue that he was the "best" for either team, I thought he was great for both.

That’s a difficult question. Toss up between Bert Jones and Tommy Casanova

Dalton is the guy that I gravitated to when I really got behind LSU. I was about 13. Still my favorite player.

Burrow and Honeybadger are 1a and 1b
there's really no one that should compare to those two.
Faulk is as close as it gets for me.

after them i'd have to go with Jarvis, with Clayton and Dorsey right behind him.

the fact that so many people here mention Jarvis should be noted. Despite playing with the big diva that garnered all the national attention, every LSU fan knows who Jarvis was and loved his game. I'll never forget him killing that Auburn kick returner. And he has the two most spectacular catches in LSU history, both against Ar-Kansas. I still have no idea how he came up with that deep ball over the middle diving between 3 guys.
