Who is starting to get concern regarding when we hire a new DC

Ok getting the right hire for our DC is extremely important especially knowing that Miles is still running the offense. Whether people want to understand this or not LSU's football teams in the Miles era have been built on defenses to win ball games and ball control offenses that give the defense time to recuperate "with the exception of last year." So getting this hire right is more important than one recruiting class on the defensive side of the ball except for the DB's in the class.
That being said the delay in finding the right DC is starting to become dangerously close to doing just that, losing an entire defensive recruiting class other than DB's.
"National Signing Day is quickly approaching and LSU’s 2015 class currently has no linebackers, no defensive tackles, and only one defensive end. Interestingly, last week 247Sports’ list of LSU visitors for this coming weekend (January 16) included three defensive prospects - linebackers Sh'mar Kilby-Lane and Roquan Smith, and defensive end Arden Key - but now the list is down to a total of five prospects and none of them play defense, except for ATH Derrick Dillon who could play on either side of the ball."
This is starting to get alarming, I have faith but that faith is starting to get tested that is for sure.

If only we had a recruiting board....
just kidding - I would prefer the right hire rather than one that gets rushed. But at this stage, LSU will have to dig deep in order to get a homerun hire.

Calm down
We hired Pelini in February of 2005 after Miles got the job and Miles is no defensive guru, so he needs to get the right guy. Recruiting that year may have taken a hit, but getting the right guy is far superior. We went on to win the sugar bowl and the national championship the next two seasons after hiring Pelini so late in the game.
At this point we need to just wait.

The wrong DC has much, much more potential for future disaster than missing some recruits on one recruiting class. A Lou Tepper would negate any talent advanatage we'd have. There is talent there now.

hush....everything is fine. Miles has a master plan for it all. Secret QB transfer, new gameplan and a secret commit at DC. I predict we move up to 65th in the nation in offense next year. You will see.

Ray Charles could put together a good defense with our talent... I'm more concerned building a QB that can complete a pass.

There are 5-6 DL prospects in 2016 that could easily see PT as true freshmen. LBs are a bit of a concern, but those two OLBs weren't seriously considering us.

I have the same concern for the same reasons.
The possibility that we would need to look for a new DC has been before Miles for more than a month (Chavis indicated his disapproval of the extension prior to the bowl game).
Maybe Miles has had his man for quite some time and is just awaiting a time to announce. That delay, however, is beginning to invite adverse effects.

No worries. Miles is just trolling everyone.

So much wrong with this.
Let Miles do his job, take his time, and make the right hire.

Hopefully you are correct. Ain't it sad though that with all the talent that LSU has on offense from the skill players to the line that moving UP to 65th in the nation is something we are hoping for!!! We should be hoping for moves into the top 20 or better like we expect our defense to be every year!!!

Recruiting defensively next season is more important than a possible guy or two we could flip at this point. Need a very brilliant dc to keep the D elite which goes further in future recruiting. A bad hire and bad defense hurts us far worse.
I was impatient as the rest of us at first, but now if we can get a solid dc then I'm all for waiting. We want to maintain elite defense! And we will, just as Pelini and Chavis were solid hires, so will the next as long as it isn't promotion within imo

Duckie doesn't sound like you read my entire post. In it I pointed out very clearly that making the right DC hire is more important than one recruiting class.
But if all of the purple & gold noise that is coming out of the athletic department is true about a flooding of names from both NFL & college are interested in the LSU job, one would think there is a name in there that is right for LSU. And sense this is extremely time sensitive regarding recruiting and right now there is nothing else to do but hire coaches - dead period - it would seem like this could get done a little quicker so as not to lose this class on the defensive side of the ball.

I think the decision was made to make the right hire.
People were hoping a couple of weeks ago that LSU would have a big finish to the recruiting class. I think that will be the cost of the slow hire.
In truth, a super strong finish may have been a long shot anyway.

No fricking way, unless it is Brick and that idea at this point is ludicrous because of the adverse affect it is having on recruiting, if that is so Miles is hurting the team.

I mean, does LSU even really need a DC?
