this. Looking at some of the SEC teams, I'd be shocked if we aren't AT LEAST .500 unless Hickey gets booted or someone goes down with an injury

Eh, he's not wrong depending on the status of Hickey. Without him it's quite clear we are pretty bad ourselves. With him we shouldn't lose more than 1 vs. AU, USCe, UGA, MSU

He doesn't really have to. Hickey is a known issue at this point. I mean when you get suspended 3x in 1 season...

The Hickey issue had nothing to do with his statement. If he would have said "if Hickey is gone we will struggle to reach .500" then I'd agree.
Plus he said we only played 2 quality teams. Also a falsehood.

He was wrong on that, but I dont think he's wrong saying the .500 statement if he was assuming Hickey continues to be an issue.

well, if he's assuming Hickey being gone then he'd be right. If he meant this team as a whole, I think he's dead wrong.

I just re-looked at the schedule and think we have a good shot at winning 20 or 21 games. With our competition, I'm not sure that will get us in. Now...We could kick it in to gear and win 22 or 23, that is very possible and we'd be a shoe in.

They will not make the tourney even with a winning record in conf play. The SEC is really weak. LSU was only an 8 seed a few years ago when they had a great year. SEC will only get 3 teams in

This. There was a time, and it was for a substantial length of time, when a record above .500 made an SEC team a lock unless the OOC schedule was just abysmal.
Those days ended about 4 years ago. And with our weak OOC schedule this year it would take 12-13 conference wins honestly.
Not gonna happen this year. Let's see how our ace recruits turn out next year.
