Who else learned to love espn3 today?
Posted by BigEdLSU on 5/31/13 at 11:25 pm40
I have tried and tried before to watch programming on there but was never able to. I was forced to scramble today, and finally got access.
I love it. I was watching 3 live games at once. I could flip audio easily. I was very impressed with the commentators in general. Seemed like they had many ex-pros in the booth that provided excellent insight into the games. For example, the guy calling our game today pointed out something I've never seen discussed. Our rhp's always go to the left of the mound. He thought that anyone in that situation should maximize the angle by instead shading to the right.
Pretty good point. Thanks to the local providers who had their techs on the phone prepped and ready to instruct the slow people like me who needed instructions.
My main problem was I always tried to use an iPad before, using their app. Cranked it up on the laptop eventually and plugged into the tv.
I can see myself watching 4 football games at a time with this thing. I also suspect a majority of our non-football sports will be exclusively accessed online once the SecN launches.

Certainly think that this is a big part of espn's plan. Espn3 is really a sweet Lil deal. But it has struggled to catch on as widely as they would like. This weekend will basically force thousands of people to use it. If 25% of them enjoy it, that's more than they had yesterday. Yes, the 2nd man in the booth left a little to be desired, but when you send out 16 crews there are going to be some weak ones.

I love espn3. It's always been good to me. I couldn't care less that the announcers aren't always the best as long as I get to watch the Tigers.

All the talk about this ESPN3. I used it. I just want to know how in the hell everyone saw this game with no actual visual. OK, I'm exaggerating...blurry visual. Seriously...I couldn't see it and at times couldn't even make out the scores. HOW is this even remotely good? Is it because I watched on my Dell laptop? What's the deal, pickles?
Please help a sista out.

I wouldn't say he was dog shite, but he could have been much better. At one point he was saying that if you want to scout a pitcher you need to see how he does on an off day. A bit later he was saying you just ignore a bad outing. ...And how many times did he say you have to "drive the ball"?

Blame your Dell. Have an Ipad and Apple TV and used them to watch on a 37 inch Samsung with a GREAT picture.
Someday, TV networks will be like newspapers and this will be how we watch TV in the same way we read news on tablets and computers now.

The Xbox is a MUCH better experience....

Its not the Dell! That's stupid to say. The video processing in the iPad is certainly less capable. The main issue is bandwidth. If you have a fast internet connection, good pic. Slow, bad pic. Simple as that.

Never had it on Xbox. What's TE difference?
