I can't wait to gaze at the glorious chicken trophy that'll sit right next to all the other ones LSU has.

This is the big thing that I don't like about it. We play there so often that it's no longer "special".
. Fair enough.

[/quote]. Is this your Louisiana way of saying we have a large black population? You do realize this is a big city, right? You sound like somebody who lives in freakin St, Amant,
La., wherever the hell that is.

(unlike many other possible bowls), it's not particularly fun (unlike New Orleans, Miami, Orlando, ect.), and it's full of Falcons fans
. Atlanta is full of LSU and saints fans. Probably the largest collection of them in the south outside of La. Your post fails on many levels and embodies the ignorance of La and why I don't live there anymore.

Gotta beat Alabama.

All it is to it.

I agree. How many think if we'd beaten Bama and they had 2 losses that they'd be in the Chicken Bowl?

Right nobody.

I rest my case on the Bias in the media and SEC. Slive would have jumped over any hoops presented to get them in a BCS bowl, hell they might be in the BCS NCG again.

I'm okay with things in that Clemson is at least as good as N. Illinois and Louisville. We're probably playing a tougher opponent than Florida and FSU—and that's fine with me. In this case, I look at the quality of the opponent over the prestige of the bowl. I mean, who gives a frick if FSU beats N. Illinois? We have a name for teams like that: Cupcakes. Teams we play in August or early September.

Bring on Clemson. I expect a tougher, closer game than most people on this board: 31-21 LSU.

It is what it is so we can be happy and get a win, influence some recruits and look like a championship team or we can whine about not making a first down in November and losing to Bama.

I'll go with taking a good win in the Chicken Bowl and looking forward to next season and the revelation of the "secret playbook".

I have it ranked 4th in my top 8 bowls of "National" interest. Posted a thread on this last night.

1. BCS NC
2. Fiesta
3. Cotton
4. ChicFilA
5. Sugar
6. Rose
7. Cap One
8. Outback

how about it gives players like Minter, Copeland, Mettenburger and players from some of the other surrounding states to play in from of their family's that can't make the trip to baton rouge every sat. ever heard of recruiting? not every kid on the team is from the LA or Texas.

Though the appeal of playing on New Yr's Day is great due to the traditional significance of it, 3 SEC bowl tie-ins overlapping each other dismisses its importance. At least w/ the bowl formerly known as Peach, LSU is the only FB game on TV in the USA, a lot more exposure.
