LaMarche didn't throw a lot today,

Over 30 pitches I believe. That's a solid bullpen session. He'll have his rest day tomorrow: shoulder massage, bands, cardio, etc.

No way do I want McCune coming in with runners on base.

I agree with you. I don't think Cotton should pitch tomorrow. He also closed the first game so has thrown 3 out of 4 days. Anyone saying he could pitch tomorrow and throw 2 innings doesn't know a lot.

I'm playing to win tomorrow for numerous reasons. Playing to win means every person in the dugout is available. Mailing it in is not an option.

Scenario for you:
Nola pitches tomorrow & ruptures his ulnar collateral ligament because he was overextended. LSU doesn't make it out of the regional. You feeling pretty good about our SEC tournament showing ?

Scenario for you:
We win tomorrow and get the #1 national seed. If the plan is to save our pitchers for next weekend's regional and not win tomorrow, that's plain stupid. If we can't win next weekend's regional with anyone on the mound, we have no business playing right now. Tomorrow is the championship of the conference. You win that game against the best team in the country, you have swag going into the post season.
I'd rather have a hot hand with confidence than knowing we mailed it in and don't know if we can beat the best team in the country or not.

You go out tomorrow and beat their arse using all resources available. Plain and simple.

You are literally the dumbest person posting. You should stop posting as you look dumber and dumber with every post.

1) Winning tomorrow doesn't guaranty you the first seed
2) Can you tell me your interpretation of the benefit of a #1 national seed vs 3 - 5 seed ? (Seriously, I would like to know your opinion of the huge benefit 1 vs 3-5 opposed to risking one of our best pitchers health)
3) Can you imagine all the great high school pitchers beating down LSU's door to come here after overextending & hurting one of our guys.
4) I think you are seriously overestimating the value of winning the SEC tournament for a team in the position LSU is in this year (Huge for Florida or Texas A&M), not so much for LSU.

I could see Cotton throw a couple batters max and only if it's a very close game. I agree that the game means a lot for the mentality of this team and could throw a switch for the rest of the post season. We have not played Vandy all season and what better way to get this post season going in the right step, by winning the SEC tourney against Vandy. IMO, All hands on deck with exception of 4 starting pitchers.

Vandy is going to be down on pitching as well. I expect them to do the same thing.

I pitched in D1 for Smoke before he came to LSU. I'm sure the flames will be rampant for admitting that, but all I'm saying is that I pitched on the same staff with a #4 draft pick and MLB all-star pitcher. Any pitcher on the current staff wants the ball tomorrow. Mailing it in when next week is a chip shot is not an option.

You can't turn a team off and on. Tomorrow is huge for morale and momentum headed into the march to Omaha.

By far the most intelligent comment I have read on here in about two week.

Makes sense. Pitchers are the dumbest, craziest players on the team.

Agree 100% I think the 4 starters aren't available and Cotton isn't available for more than an inning. I think PM knows This game is probably crucial to our success in the post season. Lets hope for a good showing.

Well, there ya go. Have a hotdog and watch our pen pitch tomorrow. We'll try to win but we're not putting the regionals at risk by pitching our starters.
