1. North Carolina
Sometimes a mob mentality isn’t such a bad thing. All six of Carolina’s defensive all-stars put off the NFL Draft for one more season, ensuring that the program will again boast one of the nation’s nastiest and stingiest defenses. The group that allowed 17 points and an ACC-low 269 yards brings back All-America candidates at every level, Robert Quinn and Marvin Austin up front, Quan Sturdivant and Bruce Carter at linebacker, and Deunta Williams and Kendric Burney in the secondary. From creating turnovers to creating pressure, there’s nothing this veteran unit doesn’t do well, meaning the only offseason objectives are to build more depth and guard against overconfidence.

I would think that both offenses are sick of being trashed. UNC gets the no offense tag, but it really turned the corner the last 6 weeks of last year. Yates can be Yikes, but he thows a great long ball. Boyd is a true soph Top 10 WR recruit. The three RB's are all seniors. But it starts up front and that is where we must see progress. Biggest concern is Gaskins at left tackle. Never taken a snap, but has great atleticism for a big man.

One good thing about our offensive line is they will have great prep by going against our defensivge line.

Pinalto at TE is key. He is injury prone. We are like 10-2 in his last 12 games played, but even without him.

Ryan Houston is a big back who really came on last year. He's in great shape, watch out if you are vulnerable to a big back.

Greg Little is their most talented player on offense. 6'3 220, a built, cut up 220. He played RB his first 2 years at UNC. Just a great athlete. Should be a good matchup with PP going against him.

Johnny White is a big play threat. He's another thats played running back and receiver. Gotta know where he's at, he can break it.

Ryan Houston is their leading returning rusher, but from the games I watched last year he is really not that impressive. He is huge, 6'2 245, but not very explosive or quick. Obviously, you don't expect a 245 pound RB to be a burner, which he is not, but he lacks any real burst from what I've seen to be very effective. He will push piles and drag tacklers, but is not really overly punishing for his size. This is the type of RB that past LSU defenses would really neutralize because of the size and aggressiveness of our D-line. With our defense this year being lighter and quicker, Houston might find a little more success, but I think our D should be able to get on him pretty quick. Gang tackling & flying to the football will be the key to keeping Houston in check.

Their TE from Arkansas Zack Pianalto is an impressive player.

UNC runs a vanilla ACC offense and has virtually no playmakers. If a SEC power loses to this rag tag bunch of spares, I will be happy to come back on here and say "I was wrong" but there is no way in hell LSU loses this game. Turf, dome, the ATL, no way the SEC loses to the ACC.

And UNC's D is no better than Bama 09, Florida 08, LSU 08, Florida 07 etc!!! We see the best of the best every year and UNC will not show anything we haven't seen before.

I get what you are saying, but I think this UNC defense is more top heavy with talent.
