There are players making millions who can only hit fastballs.

You can teach a prospect like foster to hit. You can't teach his athletic ability. He has the power, speed, and arm. He needs to hit for average, but a guy that can play all three outfield positions and has the natural ability Foster has is a coveted asset.

Good points. He has all the defensive tools. We will find shortly how it turns out

Scivicque is a really good college catcher. The problem is he can't really play any other position (first maybe). If you can only play catcher, you have to be really good to play at the next level.

That's why I think a player like Foster who can play multiple positions has an upper hand.

Eh, he's going to be picked fairly high because he does have some upside and will be cheap...but he has a long way to go on two of those tools.

Last year, our best defense was with Moore at 1B and Sciv catching. No brainer. Chi was catching to start with Sciv at first and Moore came in the game for Chi and Paul forgot to switch them. I think he had 2 errors at 1B and we lost the game.

He wasnt good.

Kind of agree with you about him at catcher but the leap he made from last year to this year is pretty amazing. Hes been so good all year.

The leap he made from the first 3 weeks in the fall to to the spring was unbelievable. He must have made 5 or 6 throwing errors in the 3 games I saw that early. He's our most improved player and probably the season MVP even though he's cooled off a little. C was a huge question mark and it's been one of our best strengths. I can't gush over him enough.

I agree. Pap is going to be good, but the little playing time he got this year, you can tell how much better sciv is. Defensively, he's not far behind Micah Gibbs IMO.

Stevenson if he can keep hitting at the next level

Stevenson is right behind Hale and Foster IMO.

If I'm an MLB scout I think I'm taking Hale before Foster. I just think Hale is a more of a focused and driven player and will be more reliable over the long haul. With that said, if Foster gets his mind right and focus level up the sky's the limit for the dude.

You are just looking at 2 things with Hale. Good glove and average (even though he strikes out too much). He doesn't have MLB power, speed, or arm...

You're right about Hale. I just like the guy in the lineup. He's the type of player where if you put him in a spot, there's nothing to worry about.

Yea, Hale lacks the power to play a corner IF position at the next level. He would have to play 2b, but I'm not sure he has the range or athletic ability to project as a 2b prospect.

Omg no stevenson is a legit prospect. He just has to keep using that speed to get on base and he'll be really good. ELITE defensive CF.
