He might be able to recruit well, but he can't get a QB, his offensive system no longer works,

should have put Alleva on the hot seat, imo
Shame on the BOS for approving that new contract.

Yep. Especially the fans. I would expect an epic meltdown by Michigan fans of this were to happen.
Don't project the idiocy of LSU fans onto other fanbases

Yea, no one ever gets better.
I guess the three years from 2008-2010 where we didn't win the West set the bar for the rest of Miles's tenure.

Any rational adult who understands contracts and business knows this is all horseshite. Any LSU fan who is itching for Joe Alleva to make the next FBall hire is a goddamn idiot.
Not to mention, it makes LSU look like a stepping stone instead of a destination job.
We do not want him to leave of his own volition.

Why would they melt?
Look, I'm frustrated as shite, and think LSU can do better than Miles, but his record alone makes him a viable candidate for ANY school.
He also deserves at least 1-2 more years to get back to 10+ wins before anyone should be putting him on the hot seat.

It aint happening though" I don't know Mighty Yat , It could happen. I do believe that the first try, there were some legitimacy to the story. Certainly don't know about the 2nd but I would think that no one in Baton Rouge and possibly even a lot of Tiger fans throughout the nation are not real happy how Miles and his agent played the University with all that friendly Jeff Long and Arky BS.

this.
alleva has been a swell guy, but there hasn't been a lot of great athletic achievement during his tenure, aside from the athletic department becoming more and more profitable (that isn't a slight, though).
LSU owes miles tons of future contract money. that LSU or any other school could reasonably buy that out is highly improbable. and with good reason -i doubt most teams are gang-busters after a new hire, framing the prospect of moving on from miles as "do you want to pay out the arse to have a worse season in the next year or two?"
for the record, the guy doesn't want to leave, either. he moved his wife, kids, sister, and mother down here -what about that makes you think he would like to move elsewhere?

Back to an earlier post RE: contracts, Miles' contract is written to carry him through to retirement if he so chooses (I believe he'd be almost 66 at its conclusion). Barring three 6-6 seasons (or worse) he will not be on any kind of hot seat--not really at least.

What's his buy out?
idk if shite like that is even public knowledge, so pardon me if that's a dumbass question

probably right, we're in a catch-22, Alleva produced the poison pill that makes him too expensive to fire, and nobody else wants him

I'm assuming the public info is good. It would be $15M through the end of 2015, $12.9 through the end of 2017, $8.6 through 2018, and $4.3 in 2019.

I can't imagine what kind of shite candidate at every position we would end up with if this happens.
Michigan will probably have to wait till San Fran finishes their playoff contention in January. If Michigan fricks up the courting of Harbaugh and he declines, with Hoke getting canned in the process (seemingly happens every year somewhere), maybe they do run at Miles and maybe he takes it.
The best coaching candidate will have already secured employment at Florida. The best we could do is hope to get one of the fired NFL coaches.
I don't even want to think about losing Frank, Chief, Cam, ...

and this is why I call all these people whining, moaning, and bitching about Les and the program morons.
They are only cutting the throat of the program that they are a "fan" of.
I don't know why it surprises me.
