the guy is an insane recruiter. That's my biggest worry if we went elsewhere.

Not to mention, we would probably lose Frank Wilson if Miles left. Recruiting would take a hit for sure, barring a big time homerun hire.

Any rational adult who understands contracts and business knows this is all horseshite.

Any LSU fan who is itching for Joe Alleva to make the next FBall hire is a goddamn idiot.

Well if these morons would direct their venom at something productive it would be less irritating to be around.

Reads like a bunch of speculative bullshite, but I'll say this; there appears to be a sliding scale of fan support and CLM is definitely moving to the left. Most of us who were formerly hardcore supporters are pretty squarely in the camp of "probably can't do better, would prefer to keep him, will not cry if he goes." The stunt that his agent pulled with Arkansas a couple of years ago would be met with a farethewell today.

The former Miles skeptics are now what CptBengal and crew have been since Miles arrived on campus. Those hardcore anti-Miles bubbas are surprisingly sanguine, perhaps sensing an end to his tenure.
This x 1 billion.

Very well written, fairly expressed, and historically accurate.

Brettesaurus Rex Whispers in Baton Rouge that LSU wouldn’t mind Miles looking elsewhere this time I'm not a fan of his gameday tactics at times, but the guy is an insane recruiter. That's my biggest worry if we went elsewhere.

This is the 3rd straight year with 3 or more losses. He might be able to recruit well, but he can't get a QB, his offensive system no longer works, and we apparently can't do better than 9-3 or 8-4 going forward. Next year we lose most of the OLine and half of the defense and we have a QB who has not improved at all since he stepped foot on campus. Why should I be optimistic that we will lose less than 3 games next year no matter how well he recruits?

Yeah, even a fantastic recruiter will likely lose several from this class, and a few from the next, which will put us at a talent deficit in the SECW for a couple of years.

Les just pulled in the best class since 2001 most likely. He bails now, it would be a waste. Just look what happened when saban left. LSU does not recruit itself. Even if we get a good coach, it will set us back. I know Les can put it together, we have seen it before. You let him ride this class out to see if we can get a championship, if not then you can make a change.

As fun as this is, NOBODY from a major program wants Les Miles.

people get too comfortable sometimes, particularly when their compensation isn't linked to performance, Miles has done right by us and I don't have any animosity but I think it's probably time for a change, also, the Arkansas rumor that resulted in rewriting his contract a couple of years ago should have put Alleva on the hot seat, imo

Those "whispers" are probably quotes some reporter is reading from the Rant.

Yep. Especially the fans. I would expect an epic meltdown by Michigan fans of this were to happen.

That's as good a bet as any, though I stand by my statement that Miles' stock among even reasonable fans is sinking.
