While I agree excellence at QB comes with maturity, lets discuss QB coaches

Who would be the ideal QB whisperer?

A coach to only develop, train, and grow quarterbacks who also helps with QB recruitment?

His sole job to produce a defense reading, accurate passer capable of hitting all zones of the field equally, who has good pocket awareness, good quick foot work, internal clock awareness mindful of the rush and the play clock, trained in good decision process, and possessing leadership skills on the field.

His on the field duties to be on the sideline, reviewing, supporting, and guiding the starter and second string QB at all times.

Is there a nationally known guy, or maybe one under the radar that is known for this? Maybe a retired pro QB? Any thoughts?

Cameron can be the QB coach.

Are you suggesting he not be the OC?

Is there a QB guru that has a record of bringing young players along quicker or in a more impressive way?

Nope.

I don't think there is a significantly better or faster developer of QBs than Cameron.

It just takes time.

If it makes you happy, I'd take Richt too.

Oh, don't be pissy. I'm vastly on your side of the arguments here.

But I was looking for a separate entity OC and QB coach. One in the booth and one on the field with the QB.

I could get behind this idea. Someone on the field instead of on the phone would be a very good thing IMO.

I'm not.

There's a limit on how many coaches a team can have. If you create a separate QB Coach, you have to get rid of another position.

Lots of folks would like to fire BDP, but I think I would rather hire a new ST coach than hire a separate QB Coach.

didn't realize that

I wonder if there is any lead way in being creative with titles. could be the most over qualified waterboy in history, or maybe an assistant, or a trainer.

Considering ST and the QB are VERY rarely on the field at the same time, maybe the ST coach should have some QB experience and be the guy that coaches them up. Or maybe a TE/QB coach would be ideal.

I'd like Chris Leak if we could somehow work him in with the limit on coaches. he was coaching WRs at UF under Muschamp but I don't think he is anymore.

about the coaches limit, it'd be cool if we could maybe do something creative like have the TEs coach also coach special teams (with help from a GA type). things like that have been done before.

Being a bit more realistic on actual takers.
Major Applewhite might be interested in signing with another big program, but not sure of $ required vs AD wallet.

The only scenario that would work as long as Miles is still the coach is the OC working the sidelines calling all the shots.

This problem is deeper than a QB coach, OC, QB or scheme.

After 11 years of a below average offense you would think fans would stop asking for the same tired excuses as a solution.

i realize you're being sarcastic.

But if we could get Gruden as head coach, Jerry Rice as WR coach, and Peyton as QB coach the rant would still bitch.

Yea because shots aren't called from the booth.
You sideline OC extremists should put forth an informed suggestion of a qualified staff member to put in the booth instead of the OC........or maybe you don't think it's necessary?

Leave CC in the booth and put Richt on the sidelines with the qb's and calling the plays. Make sure Les leaves them alone. He can concentrate on the OL - Lord knows they need some help.

They are called from the both and the sideline and we have no rhythm. Are you going to tell me they don't have a problem getting plays in on time or have costly TO's trying to make a decision?

My goodness they called a TO in the Ole Miss game to run a toss play and all the players were still not on the same page and whether you want to admit it are not this is the norm.
