He doesn't know what that means though, that's the problem.

May as well make me the coach. What are my credentials? Well, I want LSU to win, and I will hire the best people to do that. These are all meaningless aphorisms.

A long time ago I made a couple predictions/assessments about O's tenure at LSU.

First I said I believe in right person, right time, right place. For that reason I said O "might" have success at LSU.

My second thought was that I thought he could have success at LSU, but I was unsure about his ability to sustain it because O was not a focused, disciplined type personality.

I think both were right, but the second one was so far to the extreme of what I expected. I felt good about 2019, but had no idea how great that season would be and I thought Burrow would be able to play at a 2/3rd round QB level but nothing like he did. I knew there would be roster turnover and 2020 would be a drop off, but was thinking 9 wins.

I expected this season (my thoughts in 2019) would have us a contender again. Bad hires and O trashing the program caught me by surprise.

I'm so sick of the caricature coaches like Miles and O and hope we hire a process guy. I don't care how bland he is. Give me the guy that can coach one side, is disciplined, focused and detailed.

In response to criticism of Burrow's 2018 TD pass drought and alluding to what Brady could do (7/12/19):

I just remember defending the fact Burrow didn't have much time to gel with the wr's going into 2018 not to mention learning a new offense. But a lot of fans think timing isn't important

wish I remembered the posters wanting MB to start and also wanting TDP and Emory to play over CEH. We have some real knowledgeable football posters on this board

I remember when you knighted for O no matter what dumb shite he had done. You were firmly attached to his nutsack. It was hilarious

so 3 years of otherwise good decisions
I'm saying he canned Canada because of clashing egos.

And, other than convincing Burrow that LSU has more upside than freaking Cincinnati, and nabbing a really nice high risk/reward hire in Joe Brady (which I thought was a good hire when he made it), name one right move he's made.

Canada, and couldn't get out of his own way there.... Pelini, these two knucklehead coordinators we have now, his OL hire, etc. Not to mention his personal life. A lot more bad moves than the two good moves.

I wanted Herman to be the coach, but I don’t think it’s a good idea to divide the fan base into camps like that. People are allowed to have different opinions

Canada was forced on him or he painted himself in a corner with the Binder where he said he would hire the top coordinators. Canada was a sexier OC than Ensminger. Anyway, glad Canada is gone. Never liked that hire.

Pelini, you will never convince me that he was not a Woodward recommedation. O had no history with him, Woodward did.

We need a running list of poster that supported the Ed hire because he is “one of us”.

They should be black listed from threads regarding new coach hires.

Yes, let's black list people who have different opinions. Then we can have a "me too" board filled with no original thoughts. Great idea.

Did anyone really want O in the beginning? He was the last man up for the job after Alleva quit on the search process. This was a classic “it’s done, we might as we’ll hope for the best “ situation.

god this is so fricking dumb lol. What about the abortion of peetz and Jones? If O can’t hire his own assistants then he didn’t find Brady either I guess.

I was happy Miles was gone. I was never my first choice but when he was hired I accepted it and supported it. I also said if Miles could win a NC O could…and was right. Hey dumbass I will support whoever the next coach is at LSU also.

Players having the ability to capitalized on their new found fame affects your fan experience how?

College football [college sports] has always been student athletes playing a sport to get an education for free.

1.6% of the college football players actually make it to the NFL.

NIL along with transfer portal and opting out has and will destroy the main focus of a college education.

With players switching schools do you honestly believe most of these kids will get a degree.

The fan experience of watching a high school athlete getting signed to play for your favorite team, representing the school you love, developing into a great college football player will eventually turn into players drifting for school to school going with the high bidder.

We have not yet seen the players that develop their freshman and sophomore years leave because another school is paying more NIL money.

This will happen and eventually teams that are paying the most money will grab the elite players and championship will be won by schools that are now paying the most money.

NIL along with the portal I should have said is making me realize the sport has changed and I don't like the change, you apparently do and we disagree.

A little historical revisionism here.

Also, you will support whoever is coach, but you wanted Miles gone? Makes sense.
