I hope LSU is successful this season in a way. I don't want some newb big 8/12/10 bitch coming in and steal the SEC's current best game

With all the offseason issues [along with the lose of their OC,Swope,C.Michael, weak defense & lose of best Olineman] I don't get the vibe that the UA/TAMU game will be as close as people think.

Now the hype before the game is a totally different subject.

Bama. The only game that matters, unless LSU wins.

While A&M's offense is forecast to be considerably better than the one LSU faced last year

Good point. We'll see.
I think Georgia should be the consensus.
You think the Texas A&M hype is bad.
Imagine if an undefeated Georgia beats you. The Rant will get bad, REAL BAD, and I'll cross my fingers that Florida brings them back down to Earth.
If there's any Georgia hype coming into the LSU game, I want LSU to end it. As it stands, many of your own fans and the Georgia Bulldog nation among others aren't giving you much of a chance against Georgia in Athens.
LSU program > Georgia program
LSU defense > Georgia defense
LSU Special Teams > Georgia Special Teams
LSU offense ? Georgia offense (For now, there's a considered to be a large gap.)
I'm not writing off LSU this season. If anyone besides Alabama were to win the conference, I'd want it to be y'all. LSU isn't even my second favorite team, but y'all have received more than enough disrespect. Aside from the Chick-fil-A bowl, LSU had done more OOC for the SEC than anyone else recently.

The general sentiment in the media and these boards is that A&M got better week after week and was untouchable at the end of the year.

We didn't see the entire A&M playbook last year, and supposedly JM wasn't comfortable throwing deep yet. He was more than comfortable throwing deep against the Alabama secondary and didn't struggle passing after the LSU game. Alabama and Oklahoma's secondaries were ranked well. I recognize that Alabama had glaring weaknesses against strong teams, but the defense was still good.

The trend in A&M's offense is for the quarterbacks to significantly improve in Year 2 and command the offense themselves. A&M is upgrading in talent at receiver and running back; they've just yet to play a real game. The offensive line should be fine this year despite the loss of Luke.

Additionally, you may have heard reports that JM has improved his passing ability and has been instructed to not abandon the pocket as quickly. This year, the college football world has been warned to look for an improved JM to pass more and let the running backs handle the running.

Whether or not all this talk is for nothing has yet to be seen.

Until things change, it's Bama for me, for many reason, not the least of which are those two heartbreaking losses - and they were just that - mentioned.

I love this forum; I don't know a better forum to give detailed opinions like these.
Should long posts only be reserved for OPs?

Didn't A&M have two Offensive Linemen drafted? Good luck breaking in a new OL against Bama in the first month of the season. I see that game getting ugly.

My honest answer:

1. Texas A & M
2. Florida

Both of those get the nod becuase they are in Tiger Stadium....a place I am rather fond of.

3. TCU - I love the Cowboy Stadium experience and I have waited 8 months for football.

4. That school from the state immediately east of Mississippi (I am a graduate of both LSU and NLU/ULM so my two alma maters have fared well at BDS the past decade.

4. Georgia

5. Auburn

If we are a 1 loss team heading into T_town and come out with a W, then A&M would be the bigger game. If we lose to Bama, well...

agree...kinda depends on how season plays out. But I'd go A&M just because its a home game even though it will prob be a 2:30 kickoff
