Battle is not Meh!! His team and coaches say he is one og the best pure athletes on the team. He will have a great year!!

I think Austin Deculus has a chance to make an impact.

If you think John Battle is meh you're stupid. He was just plying behind Jamal Adams.
I'm stupid? Wrong. You're the idiot for assuming he is great without any actual on the field evidence of being an impact player. The dude played as a sub last year with no memorable impact and yet somehow you know that he is great? The truly great players like Adams, Mathieu, Tre White, etc... were not still sitting on the bench four years into their career. They started as freshmen.
Sure we have had some fourth and fifth years seniors that eventually balled out, but you can't say you know for certain that they will. For every Debo or Duke, there is a DJ Welter and Danny McCray.
And by the way, I hope Battle does play lights out like Debo and Duke did, but until I see it, there is nothing there to get excited about, so he is just meh until I see it.

K'lavon chaisson is going to play alot this year. He's really good dude.

Not every player is going to be a superstar. Brandon Taylor wasn't a superstar during his career here, but he was solid, didn't make many mistakes and served as the QB of the secondary. Superstars are good, but those are the types of players you need. Battle is more on that spectrum.

Sounds like Todd Harris is the answer based on interviews.

And stop being an a-hole.
Etling is mediocre, though.

None will play after Brennan shows up in Camp already knowing the playbook, reading defenses and throwing more accurate passes than the DT's.
I'll actually visit fall camp in a few days. I'll let you know. I'll be posting what I see. Not what I heard. It's college football. Come check these guys out. But first, get Brennan s nut sack out of your mouth. Lol

Of all of them... I'd say Harris. Delpit right behind him. Then Chaisson.
I want to say Justin Thomas too, but the leap as far as strength and size from any HS to being a starter on a SEC DL is pretty dang huge. Just don't think he's quite there physically as far as strength. The opportunity is there though.
If we're including redshirt freshmen Pettigrew might surprise some. Probably too much of a log jam at TE/H-back though. WR... who the hell knows. There is a log jam, and we don't know exactly what to expect out of Canada/CEO just yet.
On the OL if there is god forbid injuries or rearrangement could see Deculus and I think Saadiq Charles (RS).
But back to the beginning... the name you'll most likely hear as a freshman starter is probably Harris in my opinion.

Yeah McMillian really set the world on fire.
They like McMillan as well. I don't think it's that hard to fathom he comes in as a back up, especially early on if needed.
He only won back to back state titles in the highest classification in Texas.

Threw for 2,854 yards and 37 touchdowns with only four interceptions as a senior while rushing for 656 yards and six touchdowns .
For the op, based on what we've heard so far. Harris seems the likely candidate and then chaisson depending on the Key situation.

I think I like the 2x 6A Texas state champion with the live arm

We have 3 other QB options that are more experienced than him. If we are in contention for something, we aren't turning to a string bean true freshman that didn't get here until a couple weeks ago. He will redshirt unless we get into a 2008 type season and even then I would doubt it.
How many times are you gonna fall in love with high school QBs before you figure out there is more to playing well than being a highly touted recruit
This! And boom!

IMO, Todd Harris won't start at safety year one. I see has as a versatile guy like TM7 and DT playing a lot of nickel this year. If Battle gets hurt, I see Jacoby as the next man up there.

Have heard Depits name a lot but now Harris is getting some hype to play. Very little buzz on Stevens which was the top ranked S and enrolled early. All these guys gonna play?

He put on a show in that high school all star game but he looked awfully skinny for an SEC D-lineman. Maybe he put on enough weight in just one off-season but it seems unlikely. I'd love to be wrong but I don't expect to see him this year.
