Yea the nba is full of PGs that shoot 38% from the field and 45% from the FT line

He's improved his FT quite a lot this season. While his 64% isn't good, it's much better than career average. That number is going to keep going up as well. While his shooting percentage is slightly down, his turnovers/game are also way down.

3 games ago he was shooting 50% from the FT line. You have caught him on a 8/8 streak to get to 64%. He is not a good shooter. His 3pt% has always been very low. His FT's have always been very low. His 2pt% has always been low. But he doesnt turn it over, though some of his shots tend to have the same effect as a turnover.

But I still think Hickey is solid, just not in the convo as one of the tops in LSU history.

I am not saying I think they are the best, but definitely think they are "some the best"
Not even in the conversation. We have had some really really good players as our "best".

As for "very good players over the years" I think that JOB3 gets a mention. In the realm of Ricky Blanton... maybe.

Hickey is becoming a better shooter than the stats suggest...he just can be streaky. His assist/ turnover ratio is outstanding. And he is an uncanny ball hawk with teals, and anticipating passing lanes.

He brings so many great intangibles you expect from the PG distributor role. He just needs to penetrate the Lane more.

He is the best pure PG at LSU for as long as I can remember...maybe since Ethan "Sleepy eyes" Martin.

It's unfair to them to start trying to compare them to the best ever at LSU. Let them finish their careers. They could come back next year and both have MONSTA seasons.

I think if JOB3 stays one more year, he will climb into the top 10 on some categories, he'll be well over 1000 pts with over 500 rebounds...if he brings the intensity night in and night out like the last 2 weeks he would def. fall into the top 10-15 power forward category. I think he compares fav to a Brandon Bass type guy, although I'd take Bass just upon skill set, I would put him as a poor man's Brandon Bass. Bass averaged around 17ppg his last year and JOB is around that in his Junior year.

Hickey on the hand is the best pg since Torris and is more of a pure PG than Bright was, not sure who'd I'd compare him to he's unique in his own way.

Hickey would be about 7 or 8 on the point guard list and Johnny O 6 or 7 on the power forward.

I'd love to see who the 6 or 7 point guards are that you think are better than hickey.

1. Pete Maravich
2. Chris Jackson
3. Ethan Martin
4. Kenny Higgs
5. Derrick Taylor
6. Darrel Mitchell

I'm just going by players that I have personally seen. There are of course some of the real old timers who were great players in their own day but who wouldn't match up against modern players because of how the game has changed. But some of those names would be Sparky Wade, Frank Brian, Joe Dean.

Interesting list. Brought back some memories. Maurice Williamson didn't really get to play point guard because he played with Chris and although talented didn't have that many great games. Randy Livingston's injury takes him off the list I think. Palubinskas might have made my list if I had thought of him. Mike Hansen was a shooting guard not a point guard. Daryl Joe was not consistent but could have some great games. JJ and Dennis Brown? But hey it is all just opinion right.

After Hickey at 7 and Eddie Palubinskas at 8. And even Daryl Joe at 9. So perhaps 10.
