I thought this kid was gonna be a stud. Domingue hasn't look great on kickoffs, his kicks have the trajectory of a 1-iron. Opponents are averaging over 25 yards a return.

Maybe he's like a young pitcher that can throw major heat...but has no control.

Didn't he kick several out of bounds?

Everyone doesn't play every game, it's not little league. You play to secure victory and to secure victory you play the best.

Domingue kicked the most important kickoff of his life out of bounds last year against Bama

Offering a kickoff specialist and not having him kickoff makes no sense to me. Domingue is ok kicking off. But I thought the point of Gamble was a touchback every time.

I thought this as well. Doesn't make sense to me why Gamble isn't on kick off, but I don't go to practice.

But Gamble's first ever kickoff was against Wisconsin, and we got a delay of game before the kick. Back it up 5 yards, and he still got a touchback.

He has not got the repeatability that you would expect from a D-1 kicker...yet. Was VERY erratic last year and has improved this year, but still has got to learn control. Les does not always want it in the back of the end zone....truth be told, Les prefers a sky kick.....very high hang time that drops around the goal line. He will have his time....but Les is loyal to his upper classmen. Frankly, that tends to be the tie breaker if two players at the same position are equal in skill.

I think we will start to see more of Gamble next year. His skill set is better than Trent's...he just has to be more consistent.

Where did you pull that stat from? Not saying you are wrong, but I didn't remember Cameron kicking off that many times last year.

Wonder if he's redshirting? We've got a kickoff guy and at least 2 PK's. Would make sense to get an extra year out of him.

Gotcha. Didn't seem like that much, but I am sure the stats folks would know. My comments above wasn't so much from games as it was from practice and other sources. I am actually looking forward to seeing him BOOM next year....and yes, I think he will beat out Trent next year

I didnt think he kicked that much either. Bradley Dale will have our special teams below average regardless of who does kickoffs.

Truth! Honestly, I am a HUGE fan of the kicking game. I kicked in HS and my son is a placekicker. The harsh truth is the kickers are usually just sent out to work on their on. Any real training and coaching they get usually comes from National Camps and things like that.
