Right here, we still lost 5 of 14 games with the #1 player in the country. We are still not in line to make the tourney. We still lost to Charleston.

Maybe we turn it around but no denying that pathetic start.

I'll admit I was down on Jones and have been impressed the last 2 games. I'll admit I'm finally excited about the rest of the season and now expect us to make the tournament.

There. Are you happy? Instead of celebrating the win you'd rather create more negativity by starting this thread, so I hope this helps.

I was critical of Coach Jones, as were a lot of people. This team struggled mightily out of the gate and lost a few games that should have been won. However, they look like a different team since SEC play has begun.

I agree with the previous poster that it would be ludicrous to fire him during the season, without giving them a chance to turn it around. They appeared to have righted the ship for now and have gotten a couple of critical SEC victories. The hope is that they do not regress and continue this high level of play. They will need to in order to make the tournament.

I still want him gone. He's still a bad coach. Was yesterday morning and will be tomorrow at this time.

Imo, some criticisms=fair

This...there was some fair, warranted and justified criticism.

I'm very happy with the win last night, and they way we played defense just proved to me we could have been doing it all along. It's not just Victor and Hornsby, it's effort, intensity and execution. Things I'd liked to have seen all year but have been glad to see more of the last 2 games.

Better late than never. Let's hope it keeps up we've seen some CJJ teams revert back before.

Geaux Tigers!!

He is a bad coach. Beating a young Kentucky team does not put you in the tournament

I've only read 2 of your post. One about Harris injury and this one. So much ignorance.

I didn't say "fire him", but we had a lot of losses that had me worried about this season. As recently as the Wake Forest game, we looked like we would need to win the SEC regular season (and maybe the conference tourney) to get into the NCAA's.
Right now we probably don't have the cold hard numbers to justify a bid, but somehow, I don't see a committee leaving Ben Simmons out of the big dance. I mean, we beat Kentucky, Simmons has an average game (14/10) while Quarterman has a dominant game, and ESPN cuts back to interview ... Simmons.

If this team finishes with 18 wins, they will get in. There will be an outcry nationally, but ESPN etc will make sure Simmons has at least one showcase.
