I know its being beat to death but others are doing it....

"As Texas football moves into the 21st century, Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium continues to evolve as a state-of-the-art facility at the forefront of college football.

Expansion plans are already in place for the north end zone, which will feature and upper deck, club seating, an academic center and a war memorial plaza for the 2008 season. The expansion is expected to increase the stadium's capacity to 94,113, and add approximately 2,000 club seats and 44 suites."

I think its time for Death Valley to bust the 100,000 mark.

When we can fill ours for more than a few games each year. Sorry, not trying to be an arse, I would love to have a larger stadium. I just dont think we could fill it.

There isn't much more room. At this point, I'd rather they knock it down and start over than add another section.

Not saying I want them to knock it down. I just don't think it's that big an issue.

If anything it will be the north endzone expanded, because they cant do it with south stadium so close...

But then, we can even keep enough fans past halftime, and what about parking?

Just too many different aspects. It WILL HAPPEN one day probably in the next 10 years.

It's the other way around. They already have the south ends of both upper decks tilted the right way, so all they have to do is connect them. They will connect the south endzone some day, but the north ends of the upper decks are too steep to connect.

I think you have it backwards. If they would expand it would be the south endzone, not the north.

Here's a cool pic of what it would look like

Also it will be much cheaper to connect the south endzone because they don't have as far to go to connect them.

LSU is in the developmental stages right now of closing in the South End Zone. The powers that be are trying to decide if they want to just expand and add on just suites or if they want to add suites as well as an upper deck to connect the upper West and East Side decks. Because of this is the reason why LSU is only installing One new Video Board for this coming season instead of a 2nd one on the South end of the stadium.

I heard they want to put a retractable roof on it after they enclose the south endzone.

I dont think we absolutely need to have to 120.000 seats....just over 100K would be great. And we could pack it with more students and price them better to allow more fans to take in a home game. Perhaps some more suites and throw in an imaginative scoreboard.....although i like the image earlier presented, perhaps it doesnt have to be all seats....just a thought

It doesn't matter if there don't APPEAR to be many people in the stadium. For a game like Tulane this year, there was maybe 82,000 in the stadium at the height of the game. Just because there were 82,000 there, doesn't mean only 82,000 tickets were purchased. There's a loooong waitlist to get season tickets, so I can tell you that LSU doesn't care if the stadium looks full.

It would be cool but it probably wouldn't help in the growing grass department. That would just open up the opportunity for LSU to get a cool retractable field like the Arizona Cardinals have though. Mike could use it as an exercise facility and they could cut back on expensive fertilizer costs.

When our "fans" who claim to live and die by LSU football decide to quit leaving games at halftime to "beat the traffic".

TS doesn't need to be expanded; it's big enough as it is. What they need to do is put chairbacks throughout the stadium and do something about the deplorable bathroom situation in the South End Zone. Brining back the "piss walls" would be a start. They also need to find some way to fix the awful traffic jam that occurs at Gate 12 before every game.

That's been going on forever. It's nothing new.
