I'm fully bought into the theory that O's offseason has made this team soft.

I didn't say much or was sucked in after the first two weeks because they were shitty teams. I knew we had weaknesses but Saturday was eye opening for me. The team looked softer than ever, not physical really. No one was mentally there. Everyone went through the motion the motions, zero heart.

Les Miles teams were undisciplined but never can I remember it bein as bad as this years team.

One off season and now a lot of players seem to look live they regressed. Its scary

As others have said, it looks like Orgeron's Ole Miss teams. It's scary when one game into the conference schedule he's already talking about needing to recruit better.

Don't 4 of the starting olineman have letters? Isn't the qb 25 years old? Same excuse every year.

The QB is a senior with a year starting here and a year and a half starting at another school.

The LT is a senior with a year starting, the RT is a junior with 2 years starting, the LG is a junior that's played snaps before the season, the center has started on the line the past 2 years.

The top 3 RBs are juniors and seniors, the FB is a senior

The starting WRs are 2 seniors and a junior, the TE is a senior

Many of these guys are redshirts so add another year.

This isn't youth that is giving us 7 points like these morons like to say. This is straight up on the coaching staff.

Chark is a WR3 and Gage sucks

RB's are useless with poor line play

QB is worthless with the worst WR corp at LSU the last 25 years

But , in a way I owe Ed Orgeron for providing a time machine and taking me back to the 90's....anyone wanna hit up some flaming Dr Peppers at French Quarter Daquiris ? Maybe catch Alison Collins Thursday night at the Caterie?

Thanks man, but I think I'm gonna stay in and watch MTV and Space Ghost. May run to Maison Blanche later.

Les Miles' luck was bound to run out at some point , it's just a shame it ran out on Ed Orgeron , I suppose ?

Les Miles, as a first time head coach, took over Oklahoma State, just like young Ed Orgeron took over Ole Miss. Les went 28-21 in four years including bowl appearances his last three years. He was 2-2 against big brother Oklahoma.

Orgeron took over Ole Miss and went 10-25 with no bowl appearances. His best record was 4-8. But yeah, it is "luck" that separates these two coaches

And don't bring up the interim shite. An interim coach does not need to run a program. All of the processes are already in place and must simply be maintained.

Which offensive lineman are NFL players at Miss St? How about Louisiana Tech?

The narrative was that Chark was a beast and was the best WR last year for LSU. The narrative was also that Gage was good enough to start for us. What happened to all the off-season narrative aboit being fine at WR and that people were going to be surprised in a good way about our WRs?

quote:

RB's are useless with poor line play

Lol, people shite on the OL play last year. The OL that had Guice and Fournette running free all over the place. Funny part was that when several of us talked about how weak the OL would be this year, people brushed us aside.

quote:

Again, where was all this before the season? When media ranked us low here, people said they would regret that once we got to the season.

Honestly though, this is on Ed 0. I've seen many coaches deal with these problems. He decided everything was fine. Never thought Gage should be starting, and Anderson not being aloud to play is bull. A bad OL can be worked around (Pittsburgh 2016, Louisville 2016, Miss St 2015 for example). We should have gone through a real QB competition. From reports, Etling never separated himself from the others yet he starts because of experience. They didn't throw much during practice and it shows during the game. The offense is pretty much 4-5 plays ran through a bunch of different formations. Doesn't that shite sound like Crowton? Where is the actual passing diversity? Why wasn't there an early season competition for QB? Canada was a one year wonder. There were several better candidates for OC that would take LSU in a new direction.

In his first year Bob Stoops took an Oklahoma team that passed for 43% 1200 yards 9 TDs 16 int to 62 % 3500 yards 31 TDs 15 int.

This team reminds me of the 2010 season. We had a really young defense, but budding stars like Mathieu, Mingo, Brockers, Claiborne, Minter, and Montgomery, all of which were Freshmen or Soph. Young offense too, with terrible quarterback play. A younger mostly inexperienced offensive line. We had some ugly early games including the miracle against Tenn and a loss to Auburn, but beat Bama and torched A&M in the bowl game to ignite the fire of the really special 2011 team.

There are still a ton of seniors and juniors playing. I don't buy the young arguement.

lsu could not win if Bert Jones was the QB. Until we have a average offense line, I feel sorry for the QB!

We have 1 true freshman playing on offense and we scored 7 points against Mississippi state. We have a senior QB, a junior RB, a senior FB, and two senior WRs starting. There's no excuse for our poor offensive play.

Yea but I think the talent is there but these guys don't play with much heart. Or so it seems on the field. Orgeron is supposedly a great motivator. I'm hoping he uses this arse whooping to light a fire under asses. Including coaches.

Yes! Correct on all of this but once again...this is supposed to be Orgerons fault? We've all been so accustomed to blaming the coach the past 5 years that even when we get a new one, it's STILL the head coachs fault.

Orgeron is a shite coach. He lost by 30 fricking points to Mississippi state. He won 10 games in 3 seasons at Ole Miss. He lost to a team last year he was favored to beat by 2 TDs with his job supposedly on the line. The excuses people will come up with to defend a complete abortion if a hire are laughable. The man is not a good HC, period.

LSU played 14 Freshmen vs. State. I think 6 actually started.

I brought my concerns up about LSU's youth and lack of depth prior to the season but all these wizards on this board promptly told me how stupid I was. I think now just as I did then that the team is very young but very talented. Last weekend you saw the youth on display. Kids will learn and improve.
