You're acting like LSU is a shite program and we should just cancel the football program and leave it at that. Comparing us to Bama is kinda dumb. They've had success over the past 7 years that has never been seen and recruiting success over that same time that has never been seen. Miles isn't Saban but he's proved that he's a good coach.

He made one hell of a hire with Dave Aranda and a great one earlier with Orgeron. Chill TF out and support the program or take a hike you pessimistic twat.

I think you're correct. However, he wasn't good enough to play for LSU. This happens at Bama every year. We are finally stockpiling enough talent to have guys transfer who are capable of being Power 5 starters. You're making this out to be a bad thing, but it's a good thing (if they are buried in the depth chart).

A few years ago guys like Ron Brooks and Kadron Boone were good enough to transfer and start at another elite program. That they didn't, but today guys like that do, is a sign of increasing careerism creeping into college football. The kids are getting smarter, that's all.

These folks that are negative about everything, I just can't understand why they pay attention to LSU.

The whole point of football is enjoyment. If you're not excited and think your team is going to have great year, why even watch?

I am no pumper, and can find 10 things to bitch about les miles, but transfers is not one of them.

So your claim is still that we forced them to leave, to cut the roster down?

Probably not johnson, but the rest of them, absolutely. Don't be naive...it happens everywhere. There is no other option to get to 85 sometimes.

Why the hell do you think domingue left?

As far as WRs, can you think of another position on the team that could spare a few losses? Maybe DB, but that's pretty much it.

Not sure those numbers are very strong ammunition for us. Looks like 6 of the last 10 years, including the last 4 in a row, we've finished lower than we started in preseason

It's bullshite, most of the time teams ranked ahead of LSU are not better than LSU. They just didn't happen to play the same schedule. Even last year, does LSU finish a few spots higher if they had that 10th win? I say yes.

LSU went 9 out of 10 past seasons playing a team that finished in the top 2. Other time bama made the playoffs, but not final 2.

Yes, missing that game really was a shame in so many ways.. but even the simplicity of knowing you had a 10 win season to build upon. Harris is what should have been a 10 win first year starting sophomore currently on the same trajectory as Mettenberger who was a first year starting Junior. Would have also had some better stats with that game as well.. including Fournette. We should NEVER ever be in a position to lose a game. That's flat out embarrassing and just doesn't happen very often.. I can't imagine any of the other opening game being cancelled and not made up. Such as the Ole Miss game vs Florida St and possible bad weather. I still don't see why they couldn't spend the night somewhere (even partially out of town or on LSU's campus/field house) and made the game up the very next day. So what if you have 1 less day of rest the following week.. at least you don't miss a game.

Any ways, enough of that rant. I think, just like 2011, LSU has a loaded team and very much worthy of a top ranking.

No I'm not.

Really? Why is that? Are they some kind of unattainable standard that only they can achieve and the rest of us should just settle for whatever we can get, even though Bama sucked less than a decade ago and other teams like FSU and OSU have risen to elite status, and have stayed there.

I swear, you "status quo" people are either gump alters or delusional idiots.

And that should be good enough, in your opinion. Merely winning more than we lose, going from having Heisman hopes to getting embarrassed 3 weeks in a row and having the Heisman go to Alabama.

Good enough is good enough. Yeah, frick you.

Miles is either a complete idiot or as of 1/9, an Alabama employee. He gathers recruits and runs up the middle, and the only time he really contended, his insisted QB shot putted the ball directly to a Bama player, in NOLA, for all the marbles.

I think this team will win at least 10 games. Sec west is hard. Les has gone 13-0 without stellar qb play. So I still have faith it can be done again with an elite defense.

That just might be a statement about osu vs LSU.

Dude bama has the history and got saban. It sucks, but you aren't hiring anybody that will topple saban. Def not Jimbo anyway.

Les doesn't get enough credit because the best ever is in the same division. I think it's ridiculous the amount of money that would have been needed to make a change. But Alleva and LSU gave Les that contract and buy out. That's on him and glad he let Miles hire the guy he wanted and got rid of the stupid clause. Either get behind him or you should have fired him. I think this is finally the year Les has the talent to at least win the sec, again.

They are in our division and are in competition with us for the SEC division and overall title, national title and countless recruits, including from within our own state. It's sports. Who should you compare a team to if not its competition?

This is especially strange coming from the screen name...

Ole Miss did.

And yet, if he doesn't, there will be more excuses for why it's not his fault.

For the guy that said this doesn't look good for us or whatever that comment was, I think it shows that where we start usually indicates where we'll finish.

2015: #14 to #16
2014: #13 to #27

2013: #12 to #14
2012: #5 to #12
2011: #4 to #2

Our two lowest preseason rankings over the last 5 years resulted in our two lowest final season rankings.

Our two highest preseason rankings over the last 5 years resulted in our two highest final season rankings.

So it would seem our preseason rank is a pretty good indicator of things...
