They might have done it had they beaten Florida St. last year.

I think that would have been sad. I think there should be a mandatory waiting period -- 10 years following your last BCS bowl win, conference championship win, or national title.

For Florida, they last won a conference title (and national title) in 2008. So they need to wait until at least 2018 before they start rushing the field. Florida went to the Sugar Bowl in 2012!

We have until 2017.

And some of it has to be context related. Ole Miss beat Bama and rushed the field -- that was a HUGE victory for them. It signified that, even if only for a year, they were the big dog in the conference.

If we beat Ole Miss, we'll move to 7-2 (3-2), and drop them to 7-1 (4-1). We'd be one game behind them with a tiebreaker. It's not like a) they have been of any significant relevance for years and b) we've been down for years, making this a statement game. This is not a statement game. But it is an opportunity to crush an opponent's dreams.

I hate the idea of LSU rushing the field ever, but were LSU to win a game in the fashion of the kick six last year against a "dynasty" who is a heated rival, it would be tough to keep folks off. I would have a hard time blaming them as well.

How would you stop 20000 students?

No, LSU/Bama 2000 at LSU. We won 30-28 and I had knee surgery. I got over the fence w crutches and the one guy the event police stopped was me.

It was the last game of the year and fans were pulling sod up at the 50 yardline.

No, LSU/Bama 2000

Last I checked, 2001 came after 2000.

Anyway, that was understandable. We hadn't beaten them at home in 30 years. We had gone 7-15 over the previous two seasons and then lost to UAB earlier in the 2000 season. Hopefully, that situation doesn't happen again in my lifetime.

last i checked, it was Bama 2000......don't really care if you think it was Auburn 2001 cause I don't remember that.....therefore it was Bama 2000. Hell you could say it was 2011 Bama, but it didn't happen then, either.

I certainly hope our fans don't rush the field IF the Tigers win this game. Regardless of rankings, LSU winning this game wouldn't be an upset.

With that said.... and

We (students) rushed the field last year when SLU won the conference championship for first time ever. Grant it there was only 2,000 of us lol it was still pretty fun. That being said I agree hope nobody in Tiger Stadium rushes field in near future unless it happens on last second play such as Auburn Alabama last year

Agreed - could see it being done for a dramatic win vs Bama though.

I was there for the 2000 Tenn and Bama games. Ran on the field for the Tenn game. For the Bama game we just watched as they tried to tear down the goal posts that had vaseline on them.

If you are implying that we should rush the field, if we beat Ole Miss, I pray to God that the students decide against it.

Ole Miss sucks, and they always will, so rushing the field after beating them should never even cross the minds of LSU supporters. It should be a regular day, because beating them is synonymous to breathing. It's simply what LSU does. It should never be a big deal.

People rush the field when they beat us, not the other way around.
