I watched
The game again and it happened more than I first thought. I saw 3 times where Danny threw it nowhere and guice chark and Dillon were wide open in flat fg motion. He looks to the TE for a quick pass and won't look to his left. One read and run or heave it deep. He must start scanning the field better

I'm gonna agree with the op. Yes, pass blocking has not been great this year, but was fine the last two games. He has been real fidgety and bailing out of the pocket when there is one. This has cost us. You can't really blame him, but the staff needs to address it. More roll outs if that's what he's doing and more 3 step drops. Throw a screen or two in.

Fix the motherfricking pass blocking and you'll see a completely different level of execution in the passing game

This. Danny might not have the best arm, but he's one of the better QB's in the SEC. our fanbase is just to quick to compare him to others without taking into account O-lines, and WR's with the droppsies

Pass blocking was not bad the past two games.

Pass blocking was best so far against auburn, but not particularly good against Florida. Give him a second week of decent pass blocking (Consistency), and I bet we see him start to get more comfortable.

I noted at least one play on Saturday where he was looking right. No one was open so he turned left to check down to Guice. Unfortunately Guice was covered and he then took a sack.

you're absolutely right, Guice could be a weapon if he'd just look at the checkdown. No
clue why he doesn't

Your clue is in the second response post. It takes a lot of time to get to your third read, and he has no confidence in his line. You can point to a couple of plays where he did have the time, but if the confidence isn't there it won't happen.

If Danny started holding the ball long enough to get to the third read, and suffered sacks, everyone would criticize him for that.

He'll probably have it mastered by the second half of the TAMU game

That's actually the opposite of what should happen. When you feel pressure, hit the running back.

We should be running way more plays to pass to the RBs. One day we'll effectively run a screen when facing constant pressure

He should be on his 3rd read in under 3 seconds every time. And that is being very, very generous.

Lol, the only Qbs worse are Tennessee's Qb and Franks and he is actually more talented than Etling

A good OL is only going to give 3-4 seconds for a Qb to make a decision and Etling has had plenty of time the last 2 games.
According to Dellenger's film study he was pressured on less than 25% of his dropbacks and lot of time he causes the pressure by going backwards or sideways in the pocket instead of stepping up.

He is no better of a Qb than Harris, Jennings, Lee, or Jefferson
He is tougher, has a better attitude, and is a better leader than those guys but playing Qb the guy is not good.

He started doing it after he misses guice wide open. Danielson commented about guice being open on the play.

Danny should sit in his recliner with a beer and let some of the posters to this board show him the correct way to play QB.

He checked down 3x in the first half. All 3 went for first downs. Playcalling was great, bad half.

Edit:

He checked down 4x to the RB against UF. He completed 3 of them, all in the first half. He airmailed the other in the 4th.

Too much

Every Pass
