wrong. nobody bitched after he left the tennessee camp. While we were recruiting him prior to an offer people were skeptical but after he blew up in knoxville everyone jumped on the bandwagon and it was nothing but roses in the "mathieu commits" thread on the RB. I wish I could find the "morris claiborne commits" thread. that would be pure entertainment.

Yeah, I agree.

By the time he committed the rave reviews were already pouring in.

I remember hearing some direct quotes from one of the Kiffins. Cannot find them. This was slightly interesting,

Burton Burns is my uncle and he recruits this area. Saw him at a wedding after Tyrann committed and he straight up told me that his size was the problem and they felt that he couldn't go up against the likes of Julio Jones etc etc

I would hope this will help our recruiting efforts against Nick Saban. To not offer a Heisman nominee from the State he recruits so hard. The fact we have a young team compared to last years young team Bama had I'd say our coaches are better developing our players compared to what Saban and his staff is doing at Bama.

When Les went to meet with him his pockets were full of honey.

Jay Barker said on the radio in Birmingham yesterday that if Alabama wanted him all they had to do was offer him and he would have gone there. I don't get these guys sometimes. Do they really think that no football player can resist bama. Not sure why it ticked me off so much.

I used to play pickup basketball with Jay on occasion at a local Y and he impressed me as a nice, humble guy. But he's the same as most Bama fans, he's got crimson colored glasses. Every player wanted to play at Bama they just didn't have enough room on the roster.

The biggest separation example between Bama and LSU is to compare last years Bama team to this years LSU team. Bama lost 3 games and all Gump's could say was they had a young defense and they would win the NC this year. Now we have the young defense this year and we beat their more seasoned and experienced team.
And they know we return an older team next year.
