I don't believe in excuses because football is football. But maybe there's something to it....check out this article.

I don't know. Maybe I have a short attention span or I'm used to 2-sentence paragraphs in the papers, but your paragraphs are way too long for the internet format.

Nice article. I wish I could print it out and cram it down the throats of some of the clucking chicken littles around here.

It's a valid criticism. I liked the writeup very much, but it's crucial to keep it down to like a 4th grade level, if only because everything else I read is written that way.

See, for example, the esteemed writer Glenn Guilbeau. His paragraphs are 2-4 sentences long, sometimes just one.

I guess we've gotten a little too spoiled but yea, I agree with you. Some of these people need to chill out.

great post, but there is still no good reason for a coach to call timeouts without the ball 44 seconds before the half

The assumption that you make is that the poor showing was only one snapshot in time. It's not, it's a culmination of everything that happened last year on defense, extended into this year. What we saw last night we also saw last year, which was supposed to be fixed. That's the cause for concern, not the one snapshot of a game with all the "1st game of the year" excuses.

So in your mind it's not scheme or coaching....it's the players? What should we do, get rid of them?
