Predictable offense,

or

Game management issues?

I say game management. Coming off of a timeout and not knowing the play is completely unacceptable. Multiple delay of game and false start penalties that kill drives are unacceptable.

I'm going with QB that cannot throw a short or intermediate pass to save his life...

Predictable offense

LSU had receivers open all night, and BH threw at them. He just couldn't hit anyone.

Right, our sophomore QB's skill set is holding this team back. Its all that kid's fault.

This. Our offensive philosophy was fine with Mett. We just need a QB who can complete some passes. If he does that, the OC will call more pass plays, and the offense becomes more balanced.

Ergo, the main problem is QB development.

Nobody is saying that... Its pretty much already said we are using Harris wrong.

I agree. a competent QB would be nice, but the offense would be a lot more effective if we weren't always "behind the sticks" at least once a drive.

It made me sick thinking about how many false starts, delay of games, or offsides we'd get when I watched Navy play Houston last week.

While I agree that the inability of easy passes is a glaring issue, I think a portion of that could be related to game management too.

Think of the very few times this season that we have done a true hurry-up pass-heavy drive. I feel like his accuracy is better once he gets in a rhythm. When he has to run over to the side and get plays and then relay that to his team in 4 seconds before hiking, those passes soar.

Of course every time we do a quick run-play out of huddle, it results in a false start, blown assignment, or whackadoo fumble so. I don't really know what to make of it all. All phases need improvement.

Fair enough. To rephrase the question:

Are game management issues or QB issues more of a problem?

The biggest problem is the coaches affinity for dual threat qbs whenever their style of offense is more suited to a pocket passer. It makes absolutely no sense to keep bringing in qbs more suited to a spread option offense with what we run. Our offense does much better when we don't have a QB thinking if things break down he can just run and do it on the fly. That is just one more thing he has to think about which, IMHO, clouds his head." Should I stay? Should I go?" It is one of the problems and it isn't going to be going away anytime soon.

Probably true, but we are forever in 3rd and long and instead of looking for the 1st down we thrown it down the field. We have no identity besides the run, so we don't set up plays, we don't try and get the defense to bite short and then hit them with a long pass. What that breaks down to is we are not smart. We have an offense not suited to our personnel. We have a QB not suited to our offense. We don't look at opponents weaknesses and exploit them. Either Miles doesn't review film or they do review film, but no one knows what they are looking at. Usually, a team with lesser personnel will fail in a phase of the game, but at least tries to defend it or exploit it. We have superior personnel, but we don't do either. It just proves that Miles is a poor coach. A good man, but a poor coach.
