What's our baseball situation looking like?

Hey guys, been lurking since 2008 but never thought about signing up until now. Love this message board except during the football game. How do you think we stack up this year in baseball? I haven't kept up with it much after Omaha and was wondering where the program is at. Thanks!

We're hemorrhaging arm talent and all our bats graduated or went pro.

Bring your program for the first game. Great and experiences pitching staff. Inexperienced but young and talented position group. Kind of the opposite of last year.

It's LSU always expect to be in it. If anything the last few years of college baseball has shown us it's that you can win a lot of games with a dominant pitching staff less than spectacular but clutch hitting.

Our pitching will be top notch, but we will lack power at the plate.
Unless we get a couple of young guys to step up we will rely on our pitching.

We lost 8/9 of our starting lineup from last year (everyone but Fraley), so quite a few newcomers will be playing big roles. As others have said, we'll be heavily reliant on pitching to win games. I wouldn't count out Omaha with these arms, but not expecting a deep run this year.

Expect us to average 3 runs a game. Depends if our pitching can keep the opponents between 0-4 runs a game, if they can then we could be okay.

Just for info, we had 9 pitchers with sub 3.00 era and 7 batters with + .250 batting averages during fall ball.

all those great pitching stats are helped greatly by pitiful hitting. you people don't pay attention. you just look at what you want to see. but everyone will be on the melt come mid season because we suck.
